Re: RPG Maker 2
I have one and it really does help. It answers tons of questions you may have and helps you create a simple rpg to allow you to gain some knowledge of basic rpg making. I saw one at RhinoGames for $8:00 so you may want to find a good price like that for one. I'd also highly recommend a usb keyboard for ps2 .
BTW-It also shows pics of all the objects, characters, enemies, tiles, and other stuff to help you plan a rpg.Last edited by Adam Ferrell; 05-05-2005, 08:55 PM.

Re: RPG Maker 2
The guide will help get you started, and is VERY good for that (as well as the help feature when pressing start, and people online, namely Dungeon Warden). A lot of people first think the guide will show them how to do complex things like FF7-style battle systems, tactical battle systems, etc., but it's only to help for learning the basics.
If you're getting it for the graphics alone you may be disappointed. The real appeal of RPGM2 is the lack of limitations and available possibilities, which go WAY beyond RPGM1's capabilities. This is where the difficulty comes from.
What I know about RPGM3 is that (Valk/Enterbrain/Agetec has said this) RPGM3 is going to be like an RPGM1.5 with suped-up graphics, allowing for more than RPGM1 but less than 2, while being more difficult than 1 and less than 2. In the end, no one can tell you which RPGM is right for you (there's also some illegal/pirated computer ones that we're not allowed to talk about), and only you can find out. Since you like RPGM1 and can get RPGM2-w/guide for about $30-$40 or so (don't hold me to that, it's not that much though), it's probably worth getting, at the very least so you can play others' games for it (like my 'Paladin'
).

Re: RPG Maker 2
The most useful thing the strategy guide did for me was provide pictures of all the character models, objects, enemies, buildings, ect. I learned the basics of RPG Maker 2 just by experimenting and making a game for it. If you have the extra money then you might want to get the guide but you could probably do alright without it.

Re: RPG Maker 2
I mostly use the guide to quickly look at the models the game provides. About the only graphical anything it doesn't provide is an index of stuff available in the VFX editor, which is a shame considering there's some stuff in the VFX editor like swords and boulders that you could use as simple scenery.Last edited by ErikaFuzzbottom; 05-08-2005, 09:55 PM."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change.
