Re: contests?
contests are held whenever I have an idea for one and there's enough "downtime" in the community for people to participate, since people won't drop their normal projects to create a contest game in most situations. they also need enough free time to make a game.
there won't be any more contests for a while due to low participation in them lately. the garbage contests get a good amount of entries, but we're not doing another one of those with the current batch of RPG Makers.

Re: contests?
there are no contests planned right now.
the only contests that get good turnouts are the "garbage contests" (where the goal is to make the worst game possible), and we're likely not doing another one with the current RPG Makers. when a new RPG Maker comes out, we'll do another garbage contest, but not before.

Good luck getting an entry done in time.My kind of life’s no better off
If I’ve got the map or if I’m lost.

Re: contests?
That'd be a sure thing. I'd add it to the contest section and everything. it'd be treated like an official contest, just one I had no involvement with.Of course we can just run our own contest and probably get front-page support from Valk if we asked nice. The real problem is finding judges that the community will accept and are willing to do it.

Re: contests?
I would actually like there to be a contest where we made short games, like 30 minutes - 2 hours of gameplay.

Re: contests?
I've been thinking...what if there was a contest for some small facet of game making...like a world map contest, where people tried to make the most impressive world map, or a puzzle room contest, where people tried to make a room that was tricky to get out of somehow? Or a boss battle contest, where people tried to make a fun boss battle? I dunno...I like the world map contest idea the most out of those. I would definitely judge....but I'd rather compete.
Hmm....anybody interested?

Re: contests?
I'm all about the world map one, but it'd be hard for me to top the map in the game I am submitting to the mag's contest, which has 6 interconnecting fields, including trails up to and down from a mountain top.My kind of life’s no better off
If I’ve got the map or if I’m lost.
