    Dreamcast Zip Drive

    http://the-dreamcast-junkyard.blogsp...1_archive.html

this is kinda neat. i didnt know dreamcast had this prototype being developed. seems to me like it was what the PS2 had with the HDD. why oh why, sega!!? why couldnt you have stuck around longer...

if developers were still working with dreamcast, we wouldve seen games that pushed the system to its limit. damn you sony..

edit: granted, it was another add-on... but, so was the HDD
edit#2: dont you think a game like Phantasy Star Universe coulvdve easily been developed on dreamcast?

    Re: Dreamcast Zip Drive

any game that works on the PS2 could have been done on the Dreamcast if the polygon count was brought down a bit. I believe the polygon processing abilities of the dreamcast in comparisson to the PS2 is a less dramatic difference than the PS2 compared to the Gamecube, and the PS2 pulled off a port of RE4 pretty well.

This would've been a tough sell for me, even though I still love the dreamcast.

I'm biased against zip drives, since one ate my semester project for an animation class in college. $25.00 for the disk and endless hours of work down the drain. Up yours, Iomega.

sega was smart not to release the thing. people would have seen the add-on, had a flash back to the genesis, and then stayed the hell away from the system.

My Biology teacher in high school was the only fool I ever knew to have a zip drive.
