    religion enforcing police

    http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5h...pkdp548OQ-MdSA

Ramallah piety squad enforcing the religious laws in public. let me know how you weigh in on this.

as for me i think its outrageous and massively extreme and any possible good it may conceivably be made is eliminated by the political motivation. how can all these crazy "governments" exist in a world of 21st century technology, unpresidented wealth, and proven diplomacy and democracy?

its very unsettling to say the least. just look to that myamar topic and a few other incidents like iran, the constant crap in the middle east and chinas always colorful kick people off their land policies.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

That wealth is concentrated in a tiny area.

Most of the world is poor and without technology looking up at the ivory towers of unprecedented wealth and 21st century technology with hate in their eyes and torches in their hands.

    And Democracy is a myth.

    Beware!

Most of the world is poor and without technology looking up at the ivory towers of unprecedented wealth and 21st century technology with hate in their eyes and torches in their hands.

According to the UN, the wealthiest 1% own 40% of the world's wealth, the wealthiest 10% own 85% of the world's wealth, while the poorest 50% of the world owns less than 1% of its wealth(click here). The members of the Forbes 400(being only 400 people) possess more assets than the poorest 50% of the world earns in income each year(being over 3 billion people).

With this in mind, it is quite obvious where the problem with poverty rests. The Earth has a limited amount of resources and the power elite are hoarding far too much for themselves.
