How does it stack up again Going Commando or Up Your Arsenal? The gameplay largely the same? BLAH BLAH BLAH
It's hard to say. It has a lot of what you would expect from a R/C game.
From the rail sliding, to the bolt collecting. I didn't see any(EDIT: Sixaxsis controls) new mechanics in the first level.
Here we go...
There are new weapons, obviously.
You have your basic shooting weapon, exploding weapon, and morphing weapon. My favorite is the weapon that causes nearby enemies to dance to a flashing Disco Ball.
The graphics are great too.
That's pretty much it. Besides the new weapons and story. There's actually nothing new. Though it's foolish for me to say that because it's just the first level. I'm sure Insomniac well add new things.
Scratch that, you can use the Sixaxsis control to move Ratchet while diving in the air.

I want a PS3, now.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."
Obviously you don't like the goofy over the top cartoony action? The great comedic writing? The fun and imaginative worlds? Oh, I forgot, you don't like fun.
I only ever played a demo of one of the Ratchet & Clank's. I didn't like it either but I don't think I've liked any 3D platformers. Not that I've played many.
I think people mostly like it for the interesting array of weaponry in what could've been just another average platformer.

The Ratchet and Clank games are just extremely fun platform/shooters. Some people dont like the series much, but then those people have NEVER liked platformers, or are Nintendo fanboys (Ratchet and Jak games were much better than the one Mario game we had las gen).
