Unfortunately, the government thinks so.

You know, I didn't think the U.S. economony was going to sink this fast, what with the increasing funds for this war that just won't seem to end. Then, on top of that, I strongly believe all this government spending is the primary reason for the United States dollar dropping below the value of the Canadian dollar (which happened earlier this week, or late last week). *sigh* Terr, what the hell do we do now?

Even if it's a liberal source, I read the same story at regular sites. Yeah, basically Democrats are afraid if they vote down a war budget, they'll be "against the troops." I heard Ron Paul was the only Republican to vote against it, and 13 other Dems...

...what scares me more is Cheney trying to get an amendmant passed to classify the Iranian troops as a TERRORIST ORGINIZATION...pretty much opening up a back door for Bush to go to war against Iran. Ksinich wants to impeach for this motion.

its pretty bad since clinton left office with a surplus and now the US economy has died. the war is a major draw on the economy, not like olden days where it boosted production. all the trillions blown on the war would of much better been spent on the US people, like rising education and improving living standards. without doing numbers i would guess that the money blown on the war would probably go a long way towards government funded healthcare. the real losers are is the US in the war, since we are using million dollar bombs to blow up 10 dollar homes.

i cant wait to see who takes over the country. i would lay money that the troops would be home fast, and the entire country will take a 180. ill even go as far as to say it probably will be a democrat too.

i cant imagine a more wasteful way to use money then to use it for a stupid war. use the money to safeguard the boarders, use it for intelligence agencies - using it to smash some stupid country abroad isnt going to make anyone safer, it isnt going to stop a terrorist from getting inside the country, and it sure in hell isnt going to prevent another big attack.

congratulations youve liberated a regime and replaced it with constant war, death, bigger poverty and even less possibilities of a future.

Well in all fairness about Clinton's surplus it was pretty much sapped by 9/11 before we even got into the war with Iraq. Now Bush's deficit on the other hand.
