I know making a game with RPGMaker 3 is a really hard work. It takes lots of time to do a single game, but you have fun doing it and playing it when finished. I just wanted to know how much time have you spent making your games? Because I've been working for 4 months (some days of work, not every day) and I am already halfway in my game. So how much time did it take to make your games?

Re: Hard Work!
I have been dabbling with the software for over a year now and haven't come close to finishing anything. So that's impressive to me that you have made so much progress in such a short period of time.
I am content just using my imagination and building would be games for now.
It's like every time I start a project, I figure out a better way to do things, so I start over. It's soothing though. When I am creating I don't really think about anything else.

Re: Hard Work!
I've been working on my first game since November 2005. I just pop it in when I'm inspired (and have time). I really just enjoy tinkering around with things. It seems like it's taking forever, but that's okay. I've set a deadline for myself, but that can always be moved forward if necessary.

Re: Hard Work!
My first released game (pretty much the first REAL game I worked on, not counting one game I got about 20 hours into as basically a learning experience) took me about 8 months to make. That includes taking about a month or a month and a half off due to burnout. In totality, I guesstimate that between programming, playtesting, guiding my (then) girlfriend through her playtest, and fixing bugs, I spent over 200 hours on it.

Re: Hard Work!
Well I've been working on my new game since late july. It started out just messing around, but has evolved so much. I'm 50% usage rate now.
Problem is finding time to really work on it. Not just an hour here and an hour there. School really get's in the way. I would say around 100 hours with probably triple that to come.
I enjoy working on it though. Escpeciallly the map editor. Most people say it's hard, but that's what I like about it. It makes you feel good when you spent 5hours making a map that turns out really good. The best part is when you make something that gives you a feeling of wow I just made that. Then you just want to show someone. I guess thats what I aim for in every aspect of the game. It's not worth making if your not proud to call it yours.

Re: Hard Work!
As I don't have a Max drive, all I'm making the game for is for the fun of programming. It's turning out to be pretty good, but it doesn't sound like something I would download from here, honestly.Game in progress: "Cards of Destiny"!
How many of you have tried Game Maker, for PC?
