This is what happens when I inhale too many marker fumes.

I am making some garbage art for this charity fundraiser dealy. I'll post some of the other stuff if it turns out alright.

And now, the less popular Carameldillo.

I probably won't display this one... :lol

I didn't know what a Carmadillo was up until now, but they're precious.

As usual, I blame the dyslexia.
Here's a tiny 4x4 inch canvas piece called "PANIC MODE"

I edited this and added the final version.

Carameldillo is LESS popular?

I'd have to say that Carameldillo is my favorite one so far.
Is there a "Barmadillo" or "Guitarmadillo" in the works? :)
Seriously, though, this is a cool thread. I'll be checking in here every now and then to see the new stuff.

What about Karmadillos!?

Thanks for the comments, peeps.
I ended up selling quite a few pieces. In fact, the one piece I was sure would sell didn't! :lol
The carameldillo and carmadillo were big hits, and I gave out color prints to those that missed the bidding on those two. The carmadillo was sold to one of my best workplace friends. I was so happy that it went to her, and she loved it.
I also bought a few items from other artists. It was a lot of fun, and 1/3 of the money I raised goes to charity.
I'll post some of the other pieces soon. Some of them I didn't get a chance to scan.
Now I can work on my regular stuff again! I'll try to post a SH cartoon this weekend.
How were those mounted/framed?

Congrats on the sales, Nix. :happy
How many pieces of art did you make for this?
Nixon
09-28-2007, 08:59 PM
Smurtle - Most of the pieces were either placed behind a simple matte or just sold as is (some of the cavas pieces were ghetto-rigged with wire should someone want to hang them up). I'm pretty bad about that.
Gouf - I think I made about 10-12 "serious" pieces, but I honestly can't remember. Some of them I gave away for free if the person instantly fell in love with it and/or had no money. I also did a bunch of throwaway pieces on these watercolor paper postcards I had.
Here's some more random junk:
4x5 inch cavas. I called this one "Armadillos in the wild." I assume that this is what they do when nobody's looking.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v89/Nixon/img055g.jpg
Yes, I like armadillos way too much, and for no good reason. Most of the ones I've seen have been roadkill.
I titled this one "NOT GODZILLA" because I drew it from memory and it doesn't look much like the actual Godzilla.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v89/Nixon/img052.jpg
And this one is funny... it's a rejected shirt design for PH. It's based off an MS paint version I drew for Highwind's birthday. I decided to color it anyway and see if anyone was interested.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v89/Nixon/img057.jpg
The answer was no. :lol But most of the people there were not video game fans, so I wasn't surprised.

Nix, you're awesomeness knows no bounds! :lol
Is that Pyramid Head one of the canvas pieces or postcards?
In other words, dibs.
Nixon

It's the odd one... I drew it on nice sketchbook paper, then hastily colored it with art markers.
I'm afraid someone already hit me up for it, though.

It was rejected, people! Rejected by ME. I had to draw it two more times before I got something I could stand to print.
Did I mention the check is made out to sick kittens? Or rather was made out to sick kittens. :(

:lol Your edit makes me smile.
You like rejected crap? Here's another failure.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v89/Nixon/img059.jpg
I tried to flip the sword (it was backwards) and lowered it a little. Both of these problems can be seen in the first pic. I went nuts inking this one later while I was supposed to be working on other more productive things.

My dad would kill me if he found out about these, because he likes armadillos even more than I do. I might have to redo the "wild" one for him as a gift. :p

We had another art fair recently, and I raised over $150 this time. Here are a few of the pieces I sold.
This one was fairly popular.

This is the item that attracted the most attention. It's a 5 x 6 painting.

I always draw wonky penguins. I should probably use reference or something. But I like how the colors worked out.

Really nice! Congratulations on getting some good money for your work too.
I really like the one with the angry mouse.
The Pac Man ghosts painting is interesting. Are we looking at them from the perspective of Inky or Pac Man?

ANY of them, but if I'd gotten there in time, I would have scored that bug.
And the mouse.
With the bug.

Thanks for the comments, peeps. I tried to have fun with these pieces.

I'm glad you like that one. I can always make more garbage art, but I try not to just duplicate the exact same image. There are certain subjects I like more than others, though. :p
Here's the rest of what I sold.
I like bob-ombs.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v89/Nixon/img124.jpg
I really like stuff smashing cities. I don't like crooked scans, but eh...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v89/Nixon/img122.jpg
FAMOUS ROBOTS?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v89/Nixon/img127.jpg
This was inspired by all the ducks in the stupid drawing topic.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v89/Nixon/img129.jpg
There were two more pieces, one I didn't get to scan and the only one that didn't sell.
I guess I should add that all of these are basically just glorified doodles. I draw them out in sharpie and see what happens. The opening on the mattes is only 6.5 x 4.5. I also try to have a number of "cute" images, since women tend to enjoy those pieces (and buy them).
