Looks like I need a new music player thingy

I tried to plug in my iPod mini and my computer told me it didn't recognize it. It's a couple of years old already so I'm just going to get something new. So other than paying money to snap a Nano in half what are some good music players? I don't need it to make calls or play videos and it being easy to import and move around music is the most important feature I'm looking for. Drag and drop would be ideal but whatever.

iriver seams to be a pretty solid player. i wont buy apple again after my experience with my ipod. an iriver will be my next purchase.

My iPod always screws up after 1 year of use. But that one year sure is goooooood.

A PSP is kinda too bulky for me to go with for a music player. I had one of those arm band for running and working out with my iPod.
