I'm just curious. I plan on getting RPG Maker 2 once I get my RPG Maker1 games completed. I'm going to use Max Drive, if it is most commonly used!

Thank you!!!

I use the Max Drive. It doesn't matter too much whether you use SharkPort, X-Port or Max Drive due to there being a file converter for the three, though the Max Drive seems to be the most recommended, with the SharkPort being the least.

I use it, MUCH better than the ports.

I use the max drive as well.

It doesnt matter which one someone has...there is a converter to makes game save files pretty much open to anyone, regardless if you are using a max drive, shark pit, etc.

make sure you read the info on it in the article section first. there's a lot of little/big problems with the max drive software.

It takes a damn long time to get anything loaded on the memory card...eshh. But it works.

I made sure to move all my game saves to my ps2 harddrive to make sure there wouldn't be any problems.

Yeah, make sure that you have plenty of time on hand when using it on the PS2.

Can the max drive transfer rpgm1 and rpgm2 files?

RPGD

This has been mentioned a few times; No, you cannot. In fact, it'll corrupt the RPGM1 files.

but RPGM2 files will be fine.

Get yourself a dex drive off the internet. You can get some for very cheap.

They are very easy to use, and very handy.

Provided you're able to connect it to your computer.

I find that if I have my computer on, during a strong thunderstorm, it won't read my dex drive.

But after I jiggy the wires some, pull them out and in some...and call to the great chicken gods, it works again.

Those Chicken Gods do the trick every time.

Can you use any usb flash drive to move PS2 save files to the PC, or does it have to be something like the Max Drive. I cant find one in any stores, and i dont really order stuff online much anymore.

I have the X-Port, but the hassle of unplugging it from my room and getting it to the other side of the house to the computer was just annoying. Plus the X-Port, being an unofficial sony product, did not always work and not having my PS2 plugged into a TV made it hard to tell if it worked or not (I was not about to drag my 21inch TV back and forth either).

My Action Replay Max on the other hand, works perfectly. :D
AND it's easier to get game saves to yer PC with the max drive. Another cool thing if you have internet acces for yer PS2 is that you can download new cheat codes and not have to input them. It's all done for you. I love it.

I don't think that's an official Sony product either, though. But of course that doesn't mean it's trash.

Well, what I'm saying is that you can't always rely on a product that isn't supported by the company who makes the consoles.

But I'm just glad I got something that DOES work fine. :)

I've read that you can use any flash device to transfer files between your pc and your PS2. HOWEVER, you need the Max Drive's PS2 cd to access those files off of your USB Device and that cd only comes with the Max Drive.

use the move option on more than one file, and I can almost guarantee it won't work fine.

I bought a SharkPort but I can't use it because I didn't realize you have to have GameShark. I got it because it was cheap ($8) and my computer is just a few feet away from my PS2 so that doesnt' matter but now I gotta either buy GameShark or just buy the AR Max. :( I don't have any interest in using the cheat codes so both options seem wasteful.

You may not have any interest on cheat codes but you do have a interest for using its transferring feature so the options are not wasteful. I am gonna buy the max drive next saturday on gamestop.
