    Xbox 360 Disc Replacement Program

I just found this out. Basically if you have an Xbox 360 disc that's published by Microsoft, you can pay a fee to have the disc replaced if it's not working. They didn't specify if it's just because of defects, scratches, or even from trying to repair them yourself, but $20 is better than spending $60 again.

And for those with the limited edition copies of Halo 3, they will replace it for free until the end of the year since the cases weren't designed properly which caused discs to come loose and slide around when they were shipped to retailers.

Small list, but these are the games...

    Halo® 3 Limited Edition
    Crackdown™
    Fuzion Frenzy 2
    Gears Of War®
    Halo® 2
    Kameo™: Elements of Power™
    Ninety Nine Nights™
    Perfect Dark Zero™
    Project Gotham Racing® 3
    Viva Piñata™
Xbox Live® Arcade Unplugged Vol. 1

$20 is a little steep to replace a defective disc. In fact, you shouldn't have to pay any money at all. You pay $60 for the game anyway, so that's kind of adding insult to injury for the unlucky consumer.

Couldn't you just take the game back to the store with a receipt?

few of those can be found cheaper than $20 still in stores.

I agree totally. In fact, I think that's a much better alternative.

I can understand it being with a system, but a game? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
