    New Fall Shows

So many new shows. Impossible for anyone to see them all. Even someone who spends way too much time watching TV like me. I already missed the Prison Break and K-Ville premieres along with a few others I think but whatever. As for the shows I just watched.

    Chuck
I wasn't planning on liking it but figured I should check it out. It was good, not great but better than just okay. The pilot's plot didn't really have any surprises, once you know the premise of the show you knew where it was going. The characters are funny or interesting enough. Lots of geek humor, some of which was good. Although I sense a will they/won't they thing coming between Chuck and the CIA chick which is the last thing any show needs.

    Heroes Volume 2
As somebody who didn't manage to be a huge fan of the first season I found this to be a good episode. They're still trying to stuff half a dozen different storylines into a single episode which was my main problem with it before. It screws up the pacing, you get long periods where nothing much is happening because they don't have enough time with each plotline to builld momentum, then when it comes time to get the move along the bigger arc they have to throw the disparate threads together and it feels forced. Spoilerific nitpicking to follow.
    *** SPOILERS ***
Nate lose the beard. Damn them for killing Geroge Takei. But his son travels through time so who knows he might be back. And is it me or are they trying to pull some sort of Legacy Virus storyline already? Amnesia? *groan*
    *** END SPOILERS ***

    Journeyman
Another one I wasn't expecting much out of but it was really good. Not sure where it'll go from here. Looks it'll be kind of Quantum Leap-y with him popping around each episode to fix a new person's life or whatever. It'll need to have more going on than that and the love triangle or trapezoid or whatever it is.
    *** SPOILERS ***
I don't know how convinced she is but he did a good job proving the time travel thing to his wife. Just seems way too early to blow that wad.
    *** END SPOILERS ***
I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

I hope you don't mind me adding to the topic.

Continuation of South Park, Season 11: October 3

Drawn Together, Season 3: October 4

    Boondocks, Season 2: October 8

I didn't get to see "Heroes" tonight because of wrestling, so I'll probably d/l it later this week.

EDIT: Another question: isn't Journeyman just like "The Butterfly Effect"?

      Isn't that a lazy simplification?

      Oh and...

I think you'd like the French version of it.

The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

That's just the way I saw it, though my judgment may be premature. I mean, I freaking saw previews of the show everytime I went to the movies this summer, and it instantly made me think of that Kutcher flick. You can admit, too, that there are devout similarities, yes?

I should've mentioned it but yeah I want people to add to the topic. Especially people who've seen premieres that I miss. Cause like I said no one person can see all of them. Well, maybe if they've got like 4 TiVos and On Demand.

At least so far Journeyman and The Butterfly Effect aren't really similar. The promos made it seem like he's going back to save his ex-wife but at least for the pilot it was a stranger that was his actual objective.

And apparently his ex is journeying through time the same as him. That'll be interesting to figure out.

I just seek to finish my roommate's The Office DVDs before the next season starts.

I would like to do the same for Battlestar, but...

Chuck is a funny sounding name. It's probably second only to Bob. But Bob is old and bald. Chuck is young and sexy.

They simply both deal with time travel. You wouldn't say that Back to the Future is just like Butterfly Effect except for the base plot of time travel and the subsequent conflict of changing the past.

                      Speaking of Heroes,

                      *** SPOILERS ***
I'm just glad Nate's alive. He had a very interesting part balancing between two sides in the first one and I liked his whole attitude towards the powers.

And yes, amnesia? LAME and a half.

Also, anyone catch what the power is of the guy that killed Mr. Nakamura?

                        Re: New Fall Shows

I'll just wait until February until tuning in to network TV. In fact, after missing all of last season of 24, I've honestly kinda lost interest in the show. Lost took its place on my list of the one TV show I NEED to watch every week. In fact, for all last season, Lost was the ONLY TV show I even watched.

Cavemen's premiere is also the date of its series finale.

Pretty much everybody's still alive who got almost killed in the finale. Except for Linderman and DL. Actually they didn't catch up to Niki and Micah this episode so maybe he survived too. Seems like a cop-out to me.
