So many new shows. Impossible for anyone to see them all. Even someone who spends way too much time watching TV like me. I already missed the Prison Break and K-Ville premieres along with a few others I think but whatever. As for the shows I just watched.
Chuck
I wasn't planning on liking it but figured I should check it out. It was good, not great but better than just okay. The pilot's plot didn't really have any surprises, once you know the premise of the show you knew where it was going. The characters are funny or interesting enough. Lots of geek humor, some of which was good. Although I sense a will they/won't they thing coming between Chuck and the CIA chick which is the last thing any show needs.
Heroes Volume 2
As somebody who didn't manage to be a huge fan of the first season I found this to be a good episode. They're still trying to stuff half a dozen different storylines into a single episode which was my main problem with it before. It screws up the pacing, you get long periods where nothing much is happening because they don't have enough time with each plotline to builld momentum, then when it comes time to get the move along the bigger arc they have to throw the disparate threads together and it feels forced. Spoilerific nitpicking to follow.
*** SPOILERS ***
Nate lose the beard. Damn them for killing Geroge Takei. But his son travels through time so who knows he might be back. And is it me or are they trying to pull some sort of Legacy Virus storyline already? Amnesia? *groan*
*** END SPOILERS ***
Journeyman
Another one I wasn't expecting much out of but it was really good. Not sure where it'll go from here. Looks it'll be kind of Quantum Leap-y with him popping around each episode to fix a new person's life or whatever. It'll need to have more going on than that and the love triangle or trapezoid or whatever it is.
*** SPOILERS ***
I don't know how convinced she is but he did a good job proving the time travel thing to his wife. Just seems way too early to blow that wad.
*** END SPOILERS ***
