Family Guy: The Star Wars Episode

If any of you pledged an hour of your life to watch this season premiere, discuss it here.

I personally thought it was a decent parody of Episode IV, adding along a few proverbial disruptions before getting back into the storyline.

    My favorite part:

    *** SPOILERS ***
The old pedophile as Obi-Wan sings a rendition of "Time of My Life" to Chris (as Luke) before he leaves to attack Vader.
    *** END SPOILERS ***

My favorite part was not watching it.

I dunno, I thought it was a pretty clever play on the source material. made me want to pop in the original trilogy.

Robot Chicken and now this? What is it some sorta rite of passage for ****ty animation to spoof Star Wars?

Had some good jokes, most of it sucked though.

I liked the Danny Elfman joke.

I watched about a half of an episode of Family Guy once, and I'll grant you, it was a little clever. It had something to do with the dad chasing this anthropomorphic chicken around, and they inclded a parody of Indiana Jones, complete with the plane's propellers tearing the chicken apart (I think it happened like that).

That being said, I haven't really felt the need to go out of my way to watch the show again.

Family Guy has lost it's humor. This season will be the same....

I Tivo'd it. American Dad has kinda taken over for Family Guy. I don't know if it's Seth McFarlane having to split time between the two or what. I've always liked Family Guy and I don't mind that it's nostalgia and stupidity it's still funny to me.

Did Family Guy even have humor to begin with?

I duuno...from what I've seen it seems to boil down to, "Let's make it look kinda crappy, because that's all the rage these days, and then let's be as risque and "on the edge" as Fox will allow us to be. Therefore, we will immediately gain an extended fanbase of people who feel clever for getting the pop culture references, and then continue tuning in week after week to revel in the scatalogical and "fall down and get hurt" humor, which seems to be the bread and butter of comedies targeting a certain demographic these days."

Is the Star Wars spoof its own separate genre now?
