The lowest-grossing movie of all time

    Zyzzyx Road

Zyzzyx Road lasted only six days in release, from February 25, 2006 through March 2, 2006. The film was released in only one theater, in Dallas, Texas.

One of the most widely recognized aspects of Zyzzyx Road is its notably low box office draw. The film is the lowest grossing film of all time, earning just $30 at the box office from exactly six patrons. Unofficially, its opening weekend netted $20. The $10 difference is due to a personal refund by Grillo to makeup artist Sheila Moore, who had worked on the film, and her friend.

What about the lowest grossing film that showed in more than, I dunno, one theatre.

I wonder what the budget on the movie was. I wonder what numbers it would take for a movie to be one of the lowest grossing and still turn a high proportional profit. Like if a movie only made $20 but was made for $2 that'd be a 1000% return.

How do that film's production crew sleep at night?

If you read the article, the budget was $1,200,000.
