Not to make fun of this or anything, but I just watched a movie called "bang bang you're dead" about a kid who threatened to blow up the football team, and he gets in this play where he stars as a teen who killed a bunch of people, including his parents.

The relevance? There was very nearly a school shooting there, too.

My brother goes to a different school then us, he's going to graduate this year, and because of hockey he needs to spend a semester in a different school in a different town.Yesterday ( Thursday ), His school had a bomb threat. They didn't let anyone leave. They put them all in this gym area. I don't know exactly what happened but the bomb didn't go off, if there even was one.
School shootings have been a part of America since my dad was in grade school.
They still happen, even though the 'zero tolerance policy' supposedly would have eliminated them. In spite of zero tolerance, they've increased in frequency.
If people wanna hurt you, they will. That Virginia Tech guy had tons of people trying to include him in their social stuff, but he still remained steadfastly solitary, aggressive and bitter.
Sometimes you just can't avoid these things. Senseless, but there you go.
Which is why it makes sense not to place restrictions upon everyone else who is uninvolved in these shootings, when said restrictions aren't doing as they have been promised to.
I and others had been attacked in high school, but because the perpetrators were on various sports teams, nothing was ever done. Meanwhile, a mere rumor gets spread about some kids with no factual basis, and often gets them suspended or expelled.
The unnecessary felling of a tree, perhaps the growth of centuries, seems to me a crime little short of murder." ~ Thomas Jefferson

unfortunately very true. cardinal rule of life: people will hurt you no mater what the reason, the prevention, and even if theirs no reason at all. if someones twisted their mind through mental illness or complete insanity then they will follow through. better reconization of these people would help, but schools wont ever be free.
id love to see guns in schools for defense, would be just as useful as guns given to pilots or using a bomb to diffuse a riot. in the end youll end up with triple the problem you started with.
its really a shame schools have degraded to this state.
Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

...Guns for teachers? I dunno. What if you get a disgruntled homeroom teacher whose wife just left him, so he blows his brains out after the bell rings? Or decides to take it out on his students? Seems like it would just make it easier for a gun to get into this kinda person's hands.
