    Getting kicked out

Landlord camed by today complaining about every little thing, he said the house smells a little, perhaps because we have 2 kids in diapers added to the fact the the insulation in the basement is molded and he refuses to fix it? We have air fresheners all over the house, so I dont know what he's smelling

He also complained about a litle box on the front porch, saying it makes us and our house look bad....how?

hm....he complained about the flower beds not being weeded....I cut the grass yesterday and Ill be weeding on my next day off

anyway after a couple of other little rants he said we got 3 days to get all this done or he'll be giving us our 45 day notice...well Im working 12 hour shifts the next 3 days, so I guess we'll be getting our notice...oh well

Which doesnt really bother me, because this house is too small anyways, Ill be calling the health department and inspector to get this place condemned from all the housing violations before I leave

He's been over here painting the past few days, I think hes trying to spruce up the house, then find a reason to kick us out so he can increase rent from 750 to 850, bucause he cant increase rent as long as our contract is active(he said it was a "fixed" 750 on the lease)

Has anyone else had a similar experience with people like this? Dont have to necessarily have to be with houses, but something someone did for their own benefit thats at your expense?

Here I come Pav, like the Kool-Aid man barging into a funeral! Oh yeah!

land lords can go to hell, ive had limited dealing with them but i hate them already. its a billion times better to put all you got into something thats yours then pay some jerk to screw you. life is brutal, but you just gota roll with the punches and defend your own meager existence.

                      Re: Getting kicked out

I was kicked out of my previous residence (in a polite way) by family friends who had assured us that we could stay until they sold the house (2-3 years down the road). Instead, they gave our place to my friend's (their son) then-girlfriend, also a friend of mine.

                      The whole situation was wonderful.

                        Re: Getting kicked out

I had a, um...drug problem a few years back, and had not paid my rent for three months. I went to the hospital for about a week, and the landlord had taken the front door off of my apartment, and basically let anyone who wanted to come in and help themselves to anything I owned.

I'm not saying I blamed him; it's just that I lost a lot of irreplacable stuff. Besides this three month stint, though, I've been a model tenant.

Oh, yeah, the things I regret losing the most are a bootleg CD of a show from the Gish tour, signed by all the original members of Smashing Pumpkins; Crispin Glover's CD, signed by him; and Ogre Battle for the SNES, in the original box, and with the manual and both fold-out maps/stat charts.

                        *sigh*

Well, I suggest you take as much off-time as possible to prepare for the times ahead.

Good luck though, landlords suck. I have a really old one.
