So much for the Wheel of Time...

I guess I got out of that series while the getting was good because Robert Jordan is dead.

I feel for the real fans who after suffering through 11 books and a prequel get no ending.

Aw crap. I just finished Knife of Dreams, too.

He dragged the story out and never seemed to tie anything up by the end of each massive novel, but after about a hundred pages I was sucked into each novel until its end.

I feel bad that he died before getting to finish it. To a lot of people it's on par with something like if Rowling had died before Harry Potter was finished.

I'll get over it, but it's sad all the same. He was good at what he did.

I think the early books are really good. I really love 3-6. I think around 7 he started really padding things, though.

I really do feel bad for the loyal readers, because I know that if I was still a fan I'd be really upset about this.

What about stories like Guin Saga that's over 100 books long?

I've heard of these books. I heard the first two are just on character development.

****ing son of a ****ing *****! figures he would die!

i think his son or whatever will finish the last book but it wont be the same. so much for the piles of books he wanted to write. i checked his blog half a week ago and it said he was doing fine, and now hes toast? good god.

the series was nice but he took too long getting them finished so ive since moved on to other novels. i was waiting for him to finish the last book so i could finish the damn series, bah!

That's why you pick a series with an author who can shrug of being hit with a van. Of course then the series becomes about saving the author from being hit by a van.

The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

if he had of written the last book and published it instead of dicking around and trying to milk the **** out of the series then we wouldnt of had this happen. then again who can predict he would of gotten some wierdo blood diseases thingy?

i hope no more of the novels im reading writers kick the bucket else im going strait to hall to drag their sorry asses back to the living. i start a series i expect it to finish!

You could just refuse to read anything until it's finished.

You could also read things that aren't in a series.

If America has taught me one thing, it's that everything is better as trilogy. Or like BIGGER THAN THAT.

EVERYTHING has to be in a trilogy!

I saw this on the local news this morning. I didn't know he was from here. Well, I also never really heard of him except when whoever it was was asking about finding an audio book of one of the books. Shame he died without finishing something he devoted much of his life to.
