    Posters!!

How do you attach your posters to your walls? Namely, what brands of adhesives should I trust?

I got CVS poster putty, and it's terrible. Also, my wall is too thick for thumbtacks to puncture effectively.

I just use poster tape, never failed.

You can see all my posters there, I do thumbtack some of them, the tape is a new thing for me. Make sure you get all the way in the corners or it'll roll up like you can sorta see happening on the Smashing Pumpkins one.

Matt got me two posters from work!!

One is a Halo 3 one. It's ok, it's just the logo and FINISH THE FIGHT or whatever.

The other is hilarious. It's a Transformers movie poster, but it's just Optimus Prime and his, like, stats and weapons and ****. It's such a kid's poster.

I've used poster tape and it's destroyed the poster it was attached to once I had to try to peel it off.

Scotch tape works just fine. Although you can't get the tape off very well depending on the poster.

If I have some extra time and cash, I get my favorite posters and prints professionally laminated with a matte laminate at miller blueprint. Then I can use whatever I want to put them up.

If I want to use tape for my posters, I always have to unroll them, lay them facing down, weigh the corners down, and let that annoying, new poster roll wear off.

I usually just use thumb tacks. So you're **** out of luck if you want advice from me.

smear a thin film of human blood on the spot upon which you want to hang your poster, then press firmly against the poster until it dries

I guess...if you're not careful with it or something. I haven't had the problem.

But why would you need to peel it off? If you really care about the poster so much you'd frame it or something instead of tacking it to the wall. My posters were like seven bucks a pop except for the rolling stone one cause apparently I had to buy a subscription to the magazine with it or something so I don't mind using tape.

All my posters are free. I can deal with pinholes in the corner, but I've already experienced tape tearing my posters.

I hear there's such a thing as ARTIST TAPE? Why doesn't everyone just use that?

Yeah sticky tack is good. Theres a comic shop out here with a bin full of older movie posters. I dig through there every once in a while. Ive only ever found 3 good ones though.

I love Dawn of the Dead. Id love to find a Marv Sin City poster, but no luck yet.

This one was labled as a 28 Days Later poster, but for some reason it was a crappy LOTR Legolas poster. I hate him, so I drew on him.

my room is coated with posters, including some on the ceiling. sticky tack is the best stuff, but it's very brand-dependent... some won't hold poster weight and falls apart like it's play-doh, and some will hold a poster to the ceiling. ;P
