PC Controller Help

I recently bought a Logitech Chillstream controller for my PC that is runnign window Vista. The controller works but not for the game I bought it for. I want to use the controller with Battlefield 2142, does anyone know where I can get software to make it compatible with the game that is also compatible with Vista?

P.S. I don't want to hear any retarded comments on Mouse+Keyboard combos Vs. controllers either; this is for a laptop so shut-up.

now you may have to find some external software, that doesnt have anything to do with the controller or the game. My roommate tried using the software that came with his 14 button controller to try and play UT2k4, but he couldnt get it to work right.
