    Re: Pre-Made Towns

I wonder what the point of all those "pre-made towns" in RPGM3 is. Unless I'm missing something, the only difference between those and starting a town from scratch is they're already named for you.

(Apologies if you would've rather this not get brought up in this topic.)

And that they have a description that only the editor can see, not the player.
I agree with you, Draygone, they are useless.

On the contrary, they are named AND they have MUSIC assigned to them.

        Useless? I think not.

          Re: Pre-Made Towns

So what, two steps that are incredibly easy to deal with? If they want to give us premade towns, they should give us a premade object and building arrangement to go with them.

            Re: Pre-Made Towns

Yeah. The part that takes more time in towns is placing the buildings and NPCs. They should give us some buildings placed. Placing music and all that takes 1 minute.

              Re: Pre-Made Towns

I think the descriptions are there to give creators ideas on what they could add to their own game, the same with the pre-made worlds, granted, some of the premade worlds are pretty good, most are horrible and unrealistic.

What the creators should have done with RPGM3 is link all of the premade stuff together so you can make a game using only premade stuff, but things are so widely varied its difficult to(i.e. monsters)

edit to add: I think they also put the premade towns in to give the designer a quick feel/idea of what the type of area would look like in their game, I just noticed there is a pre made town for each area/type

                Re: Pre-Made Towns

You don't need a pre-made town for that. Creating a new town and selecting playtest would be the same as using a pre-made town.

Inspiration. That's what I use them for... the pre-made monsters, anyway.

                        Re: Pre-Made Towns

Pre-made monsters have at least 2 pre-made skills.

                          And set stats.

Pre made monsters and fields (and maybe items) are the only things useful.

                              Re: Pre-Made Towns

The only problem with the monsters is there is no way to use the pre-set stats of the monsters in a game, Ive tried this the best I could to see if I could and it just creates a very unbalanced game

using 3 or 4 is ok, but having all of your monsters premade with the fixed stats is almost impossible to use
