So, my bf has a couple cases he has wanted to bring up for a while...but hasn't really had the means...so I'm looking for advice on a forum! Derk a dur!!!
First, my bf's mom was in a car crash, which led to her being quadreplegic (rearended by some crazy mofo, he got manslaughter and had no money so no $ in that). After she was treated, and was recovering, she was transfered to a VA hospital (her husband's decision) due to finances.
So what happens? Well, it's a VA hospital...good ol' government care. In a nutshell, they took her off blood thinners (you're not supposed to do so if the patient hasn't moved in 3 months), and therefore she got a blood clot that formed in her leg, got to her heart, and killed her. Basically, he wanted to see what he could take up w/ the government, but has been told malpractice against the government is REALLY hard to win because they'll weasel out of anything...despite pretty much admitting fault.
The other one is a little more realistic. Basically, after my bf was born, his dad left him and never paid them child support, leaving them in dire straits...sadly stereotypical. Do you think he could take him on for never supporting him and get some $ out of it, or just land the guy in prison?
Lemme know your thoughts.
