Kiwi Kraze

There have been a lot of discussions about NES games lately, and this one just came to mind. It's a cute little arcade game (that eventually made it to cartridge) about a little kiwi bird who goes to save his friends that were kidnapped by a purple walrus (I think. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me).

Has anyone ever heard of or played this?

If you have, did you find it as infuriating as I did?

Man... there was this whale boss that would eat you and try to kill you with his stomach acid. I lost so many lives trying to kill it that when I finally did I would die in the next few stages and have no continues left.

Cool, cool, I'm pretty sure that game is AKA "New Zealand Story." I believe it was an arcade game to begin with. Dave loves this series, I'll see if he knows more about it and the other games.

I've played it on NES and I's can'ts stands its!

New Zeland Story? That game where you're a little yellow bird that shoots arrows? Played it to level 3, lost interest.

I think the NES version is like the crappiest port of that game. The turbo-grafx version is much better, but doesn't hold much interest for me either. I think Dave likes box art more than the actual game.

I loved to play the arcade game, but not so much the NES one.

If you're interested, I most certainly saw a copy at that new game traders that opened near Kingsway.
