    Phantom of the Opera Game?

I haven't developed this Idea much, right now it's just a concept in my head.

After saying that would anyone play a game base on the Phantom of the Opera as in the musical and book. I am thinking of making it in RPG Maker 2. It would only have event placed battles and few at that. You would not be limited to the Opera House, "missions" would take you into the old city of Paris. I would take liberty with the story line as well adding in parts I see appropriate to make the game more playable.

    Tell me what you think.

You can edit the title y'know. Press Go Advanced then change the title from there.

If you have the patience and will to find a midi file, convert it into RPGM2 script then execute the music, I say go for it.

I wasn't planning on using the music from the musical. Only because with rpgm2 their mouths don't move anyways and I'm not going to follow the same exact story line. I might try to get the main theme in there to use as background music but that's all.

Well you can MAKE mouths for them using the VFX editor. But really that requires a bit of work. You can't have voice in rpgm2 anyhow.

The idea is interesting but until you develop it more I really can't say. However I always love a good Mission based story-line.

Sounds interesting enough. I'd play it.

I'd love to actually see that. Good luck with your game.

Thanks for your encouragement. I don't know when I'll be able to start. I have one-acts coming up at school so that will take most of my time, but after that I should be able to really get cracking on it.

I prefer the non-traditional stuff, so there's a good chance I'd download it and toss it on the pile of games to play when I'm rich enough to take time to play games!

Right now most of my play time is wasted on work... (but I can get online during breaks and post at forums!)

                ...

Just don't call it The Lone Phantom!

                MOO!

I defiantly will be calling it The Phantom of the Opera and I won't be able to really start till after October 5th because that is my show date for the one-acts and we have rehearsal every day after school. But, Once I do start It is going to be amazing. I plan on you starting with the Phantom as a child and growing up with him. It will be very interesting to see how long it takes me to finish as well because I only usually get to work about and hour a day.

My comment was a joke aimed at the longer standing members here.

Lone Phantom was a member here a while ago. Those who knew him are not likely to have forgotten. His posts were... unique?

But the rest was serious. I do enjoy the nontraditional stuff, and prefer RPGM2 over the rest, so I look forward to seeing what you get done!

The Visual Effects Editor Guide linked to in my signature may help, and there are more guides in the tutorials section here, linked to on the home page of this site! (Prima's Guide borders on useless... It is Extremely Basic and vague) (But has LOTS of GREAT Pictures!).

                    Have Fun!

                    MOO!

Huh...What an interesting idea. I'll admit, it sounds a bit unusual. But then again, Kingdon Hearts and Eternal Sonata sounded pretty strange too. But they turned out to be good games in the end (Well, I haven't played Eternal Sonata yet, but it still looks awsome).

It's like that with a lotta strange game ideas. They seem weird on paper, but they turn out to be good.

Good luck to you if you decide to make this game, Gerad!
