    Favorite Movies?

    From DVD to theaters.

    EDIT:

-- SpiderMan 1,2,3. Best Superhero movies IMO.

-- Scarface. Good movie from beginning to end.

-- Flyboys. The only reason is because of the intense dogfights.

    Back To The Future
    Fight Club

Those are the only two that really stand out as far as how many times I've seen them and how many times I still love them.

Everything about Back to the Future is perfect, from the casting and characters to the writing and direction. I love everything about it. Plus it captivates me every time and I could probably narrate the whole thing in my head. Best time travel movie ever.

Same with Fight Club in most regards. Except it's just a little bit darker. Fight Club has a lot of mood and emotion. I really liked the characters of Tyler and the main character. I'm a fan of Chuck Palahiuk's writing, and I still haven't read this, the library's always out of it.

That's why I like those movies.

How can you call Flyboys one of your favorite movies when all you like about it are the dogfights?

I can't think of my favorite at this moment.

Wha? Well, I guess I agree. That was the only part of the movie I actually liked.

I often watch it just for the Dogfights, its the reason I seem to watch this movie often. The characters are alright, story is pretty weak. It deserves to be called one of my favorite movies because of the many times I've watched it.

Also, the religious character is pretty funny.

EDIT: Sorry Jamos, made a mistake on Scarface :3

I once watched Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey three times in one day but that doesn't make it my favorite movie.

I've seen half of that movie. Is that the one where they meet god?

              I think they did...

                Not to mention Death.

Smurtle said one of my faves already; Fight Club is a superb movie in all areas. I dare say it helped shape the way I view the world at large.

Ghostbusters is up there for me. Most, if not all, children had a movie that they watched ad nauseum, and Ghostbusters was mine. I know pretty much every line in the film, complete with the timing and inflection with which the characters spoke them.

Punch Drunk Love is another great film. Sandler did a great job portraying the very odd but likable main character. One of the few movies where I was so into it that I applauded, gasped and cheered at all the right parts. My favorite P.T. Anderson piece, mostly because Magnolia is so damn depressing(but good as well).

In a similar vein, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is on my list, because of the chemistry between Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet and Michel Gondry's abstract style.

Shaun of the Dead is just freakin' funny. Everything from the editing to the dialogue and the relationships between the characters is near-perfect.(I also just saw Hot Fuzz last night and I'm loving that one as well.)

Speaking of zombie flicks, the original Dawn of the Dead remains to me the best of Romero's work.

Clerks has a lot of the same things that appealed to me as Shaun of the Dead: Memorable lines, characters, and roof hockey. Well, maybe not roof hockey.

                    Re: Favorite Movies?

Pieces of April because it's such a quirky and oddball movie, and because it has the absolute most emotionally-rewarding ending ever.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose because religion does not play into it very much. Catholicism is the foundation of the film, but faith is the major point derived. Plus I've never been so creeped out by a movie in my life.

Tommy Boy because sometimes you just can't beat your childhood favorites.

The Dead Hate the Living because it's the cream of the crop for cheesy B-movies, and it doesn't rely on one big named actor/actress to get you to watch it. Full Moon Pictures did this one right, down to the horrible fire and electrocution special effects.

Home Room is another one that just gets me every time. The climax of the film is so heartfelt and depressing.

X-Men 2 is my favorite comic book movie. Thinking about it right now, I fail to come up with any way that the movie could have been any better. Even Storm doesn't bother me. I find it every day a bigger slap in the face that we got X3 to follow up X2. I still liked X3, though. :P

I'm sure there's others. Probably V for Vendetta would make the list. Empire Records, Leon the Professional, City of God, The Breakfast Club, Galaxy Quest, Spirited Away, The Lord of the Rings (in total), Interstate 60, and uh... Reservoir Dogs.

                    EDIT: Forgot about Aliens.

the Seven Samurai, it totally lives up to the hype. Toshiro Mifune is one of the greatest actors that ever lived and this movie is a testament to both his and Kurosawa's skill.

I also really love Rear Window. it's so cool. when people talk about how great Alfred Hitchcock was, this is the movie that comes to mind for me.

and then Army of Darkness. it's just such an awesome movie. so many great lines in it. and it knows exactly what it is, so the movie doesn't try to be anything else. it's just great fun.

You can't have a favorite movie if you spell it wrong.

Ghostbusters, Labyrinth, Forrest Gump, and despite my fear of the Grumpus League, Austin Powers.
