what if YOU only had ONE MORE DAY?!

okay, so the new Amazing Spider-Man storyline's started and it's awesome. is anyone else following it?

basically, ever since Pete revealed his identity to the world to support the Super Hero Registration Act, his life's gone to ****. he turned against Tony Stark and the government, becoming a fugitive, and now all of his enemies know who he is. Kingpin sent an assassin after him but shot Aunt May instead. now Aunt May's lying in a hospital bed, dying, with very little chance of survival.

the first part sees Spider-Man and Iron Man kind of duking it out for a second. that was cool. it's a really emotionally charged story, which have always made the best Spider-Man stories. Straczynski's really pulling out all of the stops with this one. Quesada's art is neat, as always, and so far, I'm really digging it.

I think the next issue's going to have him going to see Dr. Strange.

Sounds to me like this whole thing's going to result in Peter faking his death and assuming a new identity like Daredevil did.

Don't worry. Aunt May will be fine. One More Day is simply a way for Joe Quesada to live out his dream and destroy Mary Jane and Peter's marriage. That's the major ramification. Aunt May is just a red herring.

For the record? Clone saga was originally designed to do the same thing. Marvel's been trying to break them up for YEARS, but they feel that they can't kill her or have them divorce, because either would "age" Peter.




The hows aren't so certain. What most people are speculating is that Dr. Strange does some weird magic that will wipe out everything in Spider-man's past that Marvel editorial finds difficult to work with. Thus his public unmasking is gone, his organic web shooters are gone, the marriage, etc, etc. Some people are speculating that they'll go so far as to wipe out controversial stories such as Sins Past and The Other's totemistic origin as well. Basically, they'll give JMS the Morrison treatment where they praise his run and then do everything they can do to completely wipe all his stuff out.

Well basically, I've theorized that something would happen where Peter would ask Dr. Strange or someone else with the ability to do something that would make people forget that Peter is really Spiderman. The backfire to this would be everyone forgets, Mary Jane, Aunt May, the heroes, everyone.

Then again I've theorized that Peter would end up breaking the marriage with MJ out of love to her, because he realizes that being on the run with him causes her to not have much of a life. Also... I'm sure House of M plays in his mind alot regarding MJ. Without him she was a Hollywood success.

I need to pick up this issue.

This is why I gave up on Marvel and DC. They'll do anything for a buck, then turn around and un-do the last thing for another buck a week later. PASS.

I dunno. I know that Joe Quesada hates Mary-Jane, but the fans love Peter and Mary-Jane too much to let something like that happen. I think it'd be a really bad move on Marvel's part, probably as bad if not worse than Clone Saga. I don't think that they're that stupid. I'm willing to give them a little credit. but I guess we'll know before long.
