A quick question (RPG Maker/PS3 related)

Now that I have a PS3, I'm interested in downloading some games made by the members here.

I don't have a Max Drive, but it's possible to use the internet through the PS3's web browser. I remember hearing that you can download memory card data directly to your PS3 without needing a Max Drive, but I might be wrong about that.

I was wondering if that was possible? Thanks in advance!

using your PC, download the playstation 3 format games from the game listings (noted with a "PS3" or "Download PS3" link in the listing). unzip it, put it any type of removable storage device the PS3 works with (compact flash, memory stick, SD card, or USB storage), and connect it to the PS3. then go to the memory card manager, select the device from the list, press triangle on the save file, and select a memory card file to move it to.

There is no way to allow people to directly download PS1/PS2 saves from the PS3's browser. it was tested, and it just didnt work. so you still have to use the PC as a go-between. fortunately, there's no complicated hardware getting in the way. just a computer, a storage device, and the system.

there's not a whole lot of games converted so far (only a handfull for each RPG Maker), but more are being added fairly frequently.

Now I don't have any need whatsoever in investing in a Max Drive.

If you wanted to upload your game, is it possible to save memory card data on a USB Jump Drive?

sure is, just select the save in the memory card menu, press triangle, and copy it to the device. of course, we do allow submissions in the PS3 format. I'll convert it to a standard .max file as well. just make sure it's zipped, and the submission post is marked as a PS3 file.

Is it possible to, after unzipping the file, upload it to your PS3 through a PSP? I've already tried putting it in a few folders, but no luck so far.

yeah, you can.
I forgot all about the folder structure needed (I've only ever put a single file on my PS3 this way, the rest have been done with the memory card adapter). I'll get that info on the site as soon as I can.
