    Explosion

Hey, people. I'm trying to simulate an explosion. A little explosion, just a little bomb. I've added a screen flash effect, a shake screen, and a demolition sound effect, but it doesn't seem very convincing. I am still forced to add a message by a character saying "It has exploded!". Is there a more convincing way?

How about it fades out and you hear the demolition and blah blah blah, then it fades in and (whatever you want to be destroyed) is destroyed. Try that.

Nothing is destroyed, it is just a cake with a prank bomb inside. Nothing is destroyed

        Re: Explosion

I've actually been experimenting with the games sound effects, and I've come up with a cool way to get an "explosion" sound effect. Just have about 6 "demolition" sound effects play at the same time. Set them up one after another in the mode editor (with the "Wait" option set to no). This makes the sound louder and bolder, almost like an explosion.

If you put them all at the same time, wouldn't it be just the same with the volume a lot higher?

No, they are offset by the time it takes the processor to read and execute the next command.

            It's different!

            MOO!

No. Trust me. I've already implemented this trick a thousand times. I've also used other sound effects together to create some interesting effects (such as a whisper that gradually gets more and more loud and resonant).

KICK-ASS. I've been wondering how to do stuff like this.
