80GB PS3 compatability issues with RPG Maker 2

It has come to my attention that the new 80GB models have a few problems with RPG Maker 2, since they are using software-based emulation, instead of true hardware-based backwards compatability.

The problems with the 80GB model, according to Sony's official list are:
Throughout the title, when the user selects various menu options/icons, the title hangs.
At a specific point during gameplay, the title hangs.

Again, these problems are exclusive to the new 80GB model. If you have a 20GB or 60GB model, you will have no problems with RPG Maker 2.

I'd also like to remind everyone that RPG Maker 3's HDD support currently does not work with any Playstation 3 models.

Any word about how they work with RPGM1?

Stuff like this is the biggest reason why I decided to get my PS3 so soon.

according to the list, the only problems are with RPGM2, and only with the 80GB model.

I haven't had any problems I just bought my playstation 3 60gb system last week. I will create a game on rpg maker 2 for playstation and I also have fighter maker 2 also. I also bought the accessories for my playstation 3 and also i will be getting my greendot visa card in the mail so I can play final fantasy xi online sence I got it last few years ago. I have been wanting to play final fantasy xi online is months sence I got it. lol

Well that wierd that it doesn't support rpg maker 3? I don't know why it workd with rpg maker 2. -shrugs shoulders- Hmmm

Of course you haven't had any problems, you have the 60GB system. Those use hardware emulation so they work pretty much just like a PS2. The new 80GB ones don't have the PS2 Emotion Engine chip so they have issues playing a lot of PS1/2 games.

well lecheck you are right! It would be best they they should get the 60gb ps3 than the 80gb till they solve the problems with the ps3 80gb systems.

They are discontinuing the 80's anyway is what i heard, and the 20's

nope. the 60GB version has been discontinued (along with the 20GB version a few months back), leaving only the 80GB version that has the compatability issues, and the new 40GB version that doesnt have any PS2 backwards compatability at all.

If you're an RPG Maker 2 user, the current PS3 models are very, very bad.
