    Probability

How can I make it work? AKA How do I do it?

Wouldn't it be possible to string several choices together?

I have a faint idea how it works, but I've never used it in a game.

And anyone else notice how you can't put two events in the same square? Anytime I have one event go on another, it refuses to have them on the same space.

basically the % affects the second and, if it's a 3-way, third choice. So if you set up a 2-way and set a % of 32, there's a 32% chance the second choice will occur instead of the first. If you set up a 3-way to 33% and 16%, there's a 33% chance the second choice will happen and a 16% chance the third will.

Although, it seems it's not entirely accurate. Setting a 2-way to 50% does not mean there's an exact 50/50 chance of choice 2 being used over choice 1, nor does setting a 3-way to 33-33 mean there's a 1 in 3 chance of the third choice happening. I can't remember which direction it has a tendancy of leaning towards, though.

Anyway, when using a 3-way choice for example, you get this:

    3-way Probability 33% 33% (don't quote me on that)
    Choice 2
    Choice 3

Everything that's supposed to happen in the first choice goes between the "3-way" choice line and the "Choice 2" line. Everything in the second choice goes between "Choice 2" and "Choice 3", and everything in the last choice goes under Choice 3. Yes, that means Choice 3 doesn't end until the page does. If you want the 3-way to end so the event can continue, you have to have each choice Take Over to a new page. Same way with 2-ways; Choice 2 goes on until the end of the page with those.

It is definately possible to string multiple choices together. Just add another 2-way or 3-way choice at the end of Choice 3. If you're giving the player these choices in a text box, then you call the last choice something like "Next Page", and at the end of all the choices, have the last choice be "First Page" and have the event Take Over back to the start of the page. Though if you do that, make sure to have all those options take place on their own page. Example, person asks the question on Page 1, take over to Page 2 where all the choices are, the last choice takes over Page 2 again.

Yes, I've noticed how you can't place multiple events in the same square. There are a couple methods you can use to get around this, though. In the case of large events (like the big flame, door, etc.), you could give the event no graphic by default, and when you enter the map, take over to the event to change its graphic and use Unable to Execute to prevent it from reverting before you leave the map. The other option is to set the events you want to set on top to the side, and when the player enters the map, take over to those events and move them into place real quick.

    I hope this helps.

Indeed, a good explaination was all I needed. Thanks.
