Would anyone play this? (lost legends)

OK, i quickly though of a game idea yesterday. Before i start really getting into makeing it, i want to know if anyone would want to play it. Heres the story. Lol, it starts on beginners island but hat has to do with the story :P
Zach(the hero/main character)wakes up at lost island. Tenisha(an islander awakening from a 1000 year sleep from an evil man named Greg)wakes up and is surprised to see someone on the island. Greg has also given her very bad memory loss, she dosnt remember that much. She explains him what happened 1000 years ago(or what she remembers...)The island used to be much larger and have many people there who were rulled by the good King George. Bad things were happening in the world. Greg was going to destroy the world(or try to). King George knew he would die and if he died, the world would with him shortly after so he had to do something. In a large book he wrote down everything thats happening. He wrote down vital information on how to get off the island, what is happeneing, and how to stop him. He hid it underground and would lay it somewhere safe when he thought he would die soon. But one day he died unexpectingly. Greg then stole the book. But the last 2 pages still remain on the island safe. You have to first find the 2 pages, then get off the island, then...much, much more. heres some things about the game...


1.NO or VERY FEW battles in the game(at least 1 battle, lol, you have to kill Greg of course)But no random battles, just battles for the story and theres atraining center tenisha builds for you to train to kill Greg)
2. a looong srory.
3. Very large world.
4.many puzzles
5.a surprise ending.


Does it sound good? Would you play it?

Here's the first tip. Improve on your spelling and grammar and work on making your post look nice and spiffy. Honestly, people are less likely to be interested in your game if they can't stand to look at your post. Not trying to bash on you, it's just the truth.

I probably wouldn't play it. Sounds like a lot of semi-original takes on old worn out cliches. Plus, am I gonna want to invest the time playing through "a looong srory" (sic) where I really cannot STAND the name of the main enemy? I mean, Greg???? If I was playing, the only thing I would look forward to all game is offing Greg to save him from further humiliation....humiliation in being the main, badass, evil guy in the whole land, and being stuck with the name Greg. I picture Greg cuddling up to fuzzy newborn chicks, and carefully stepping over ants on the sidewalk to avoid killing them.

But then again, it IS your game. If you think Greg is a really menacing, threatening name, by all means, use it. And listen to Draygone's advice. He is relaying to you pearls of wisdom.

actually, now that i look at it, i dont really like the idea myself so i just deleted the game. Oh... and sorry about the grammer in the first post. I was in a rush. This should be locked now.

As for advice on the game: yeah, there are some cliches here, you should work out your story and/or background and iron them out. For example, 1000-year periods are insanely common in RPGs, it's one of the biggest cliches. Trust me, ditch it.

Some of the ideas don't seem too bad. The amnesia bit can seem cliched if used badly, but it might work. Heck, instead of making the girl the damsel in distress, maybe she could actually be the BBEG instead -- and the memory loss was inflicted on her to save the world in the past (please please not 1000 years ago.) A puzzle centered game based on escaping from an island that's actually a prison for some malevolent entity could make an interesting game. Or some other similar twist.

Avoid the "Save the world from the BBEG!" plot. That's as badly overused as millenia. Nothing wrong with having a more small scale threat that covers just the island. I'm sure someone has some links to sites that list a lot of common RPG cliches (or just Google RPG cliches); read up on them so you know what to avoid.

Anyway, don't feel discouraged. Just take the basic idea, play around with it a bit and come up with something unique.
