    Blue Dragon

    I'm enjoying it so far.
The game even lets you choose the spoken dialog as english, japanese, or french.

Graphics are awesome. Gameplay is basic. Still nice though.

Three ******* discs?!?!?! I opened the case, saw the first disc. Took it out. Whoa! There's a second disc! I take that out, holy ****, batman! A third!!! Lots of audio dialog and FMVs I guess.

And I didn't catch the name if the little green guy that hangs around the main bad guy, Nene, but I already want that thing as my little buddy.

Is there as much slowdown as in the demo?
        ...and that's why.

Is there as much SUCK as there was in the demo?

              Deathroy. It's in the manual...

Anyways, this game is pretty solid but it plays pretty much like a SNES rpg with next gen graphics... given the fact that most of the developers and creative staff worked on Japanese RPG's in the 90s, it's no big surprise.

The story is nothing special but the direction is fantastic. The game's story unfolds on the same scale as Final Fantasy X in that it tells you everything you need to know about a situation and reveals new information very slowly. Because of this, the game feels like a nice, light-hearted adventure and never becomes overwhelming or overly annoying with pretentious philosophical debates that seem to plague every jRPG. The characters are pretty believable and likeable and the voice acting is actually decent.

The only thing I don't like is that the game is too simple. It's like RPG by numbers. There's tons of classes and skills and you can mix n match to your hearts content but the game has like... zero difficulty. It's not like Dragon Quest where you have to use particular spells or certain items to survive most battles. I didn't have to HEAL during the 1st half of the game because every enemy does a ridiculously low amount of damage.

Basically, it's a solid RPG... but it's for hardcore RPG enthusiasts only. If you're a fan of the old school **** (I.E. big dungeons, lots of skills, righteous characters) then you'll enjoy it.

Why don't more games I play do this? There are multiple games I've played that have english dubs and they won't let you have the Japanese voices. It's ****ing AWFUL.

Probably because most other games only take place on one disk.

I was thinking the same thing. What's even worse is that you find gold inside of monster poo that they drop on the field map.

Speaking of which, this game has some of the most ridiculous item searches in any game ever. It's like the developers said "Hey, let's make fun of the potion in a vase/hamburger in a trash can law." Gold and random medicine can be found in ANYTHING ranging from heaps of scrap metal, large rocks, trees, and even poo. I guess monsters like eating gold?
