Hey, I have to save a bunch of word files to a CD but I'm having complications. I have a CD-RW drive and a Phillips CD-R80 40x disc with a bunch of songs that used to be my brothers. When I go to format the disc it says "The media you have inserted is read only, Please check to make sure this disc is compatable with your recorder." God I hate computers sometimes. So whats my problem? I'm kinda out of the loop when it comes to recording crap on Cds. oh and my drive is a Samsung CD-R/RW SW-252S. Thanks~

Re: CD-RW recordable CD question!
If thats true, then you problem is pretty obvious.I have a CD-RW drive and a Phillips CD-R80 40x disc
CD-R = One use
CD-RW = Multiple uses
Your trying to burn things onto a CD-R disc thats already been used once. You need to buy a pack of CD-RW discs if you want to use it more than once.
CD-RWs also cost more than plain old CD-Rs.
But if you just typed that wrong and you are using a CD-RW disc, you could have a different problem. It couls be possible that your drive only burns CD+R discs. They're arent many that do that, because almost all of them do both just incase.
Or it could just be that the brand of disc is just crap, and isn't compatile with your drive. Two really good brands of good CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, and DVD-RW discs are Memorex, and Sony. Ive never had any problems with them.

Re: CD-RW recordable CD question!
You can add new data to a CD-R if there's still some blank space available and it hasn't been finalized yet but music CDs usually have to be fianlalized whether they're full or not in order to play in a CD player. See if he has any data discs (discs with files not music) if it isn't full you'll be able to add to it.I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!
