SPIDERS ARE INVADING MY ROOM and what is your greatest fear?

They say there's always a spider within 3 feet of you. I always thought that was a load of rubbish.

Then I took a look around my room.

So, I have this tiny flashlight the size of the tip of my thumb (how I got it is a story in itself), and just before I go to bed I decide to examine my room in detail with it. There I find, at the foot of my bed, a spider in it's web. Further examination reveals 3 spiders scattered in a triangle around my room, and there's probably a fourth one around somewhere. I was a little hesitant to sleep in my bed last night.

That was two nights ago. Last night I dreamed that there were a dozen inch-wide spiders hanging out in plain sight in my room, and 3 others in the hall outside walking toward my room. I freaked, forged a path outside, and refused to sleep in my bed in that dream.

I can safely say I've had my first nightmare.

So, what is your greatest fear or fears?

I like spiders. My room is sometimes home to brown recluses.


I don't like getting bitten by spiders. When I tried to sleep this morning, one was crawling on my leg. I wanted to pick it up and put it on the floor where it belongs, but it kept crawling under my sheets and covers, only to be crawling on my leg again when I'd try to sleep. Annoying.


Eventually, it quit running around all over the place on my legs and mattress and settled next to my foot. Guess the little fella' was cold. From what I could tell, it was probably a small house spider.

As for my biggest fears, I have lots of them. People touching me unexpectedly is one of the big ones.

You wouldn't want to be in my room then. There's always plenty of spiders crawling around. I don't know what kind they are though.

My fears are heights, maggots, being killed due to mistaken identity, and probably some other stuff that's not coming to mind.

I don't mind spiders that:

1. are small or that have thin legs, except for those that are colored black and yellow and/or red,

2. Those that spin webs and stay in them, except for big ones and, again, black/yellow/red spiders.

Other than those, I like spiders. I think of the ones in my room as sentries. Thing is, how does 3 or 4 spiders get in my house, and crawl upstairs to my specific room? Either they bred, or they were placed there as sentries by the Spider Queen.

But are they there to watch over me... or just plain watch me?

that would make an interesting rpg maker game.

im not a fan of spiders or anything that has stealth and crawls. i have a fear of basements and the dark, also of ghosts and hmm, getting a job

I just found a nest of roaches near my bed. This is especially interesting that they decided to show up a few weeks after I cleaned the whole damn room for the first time in years.

I wonder what they're living off of? They've been in other areas of the house for months and have been popping up randomly every few years, but never in my room.

They might be cute, but they're also disgusting. This also might explain why my room has had an increased number of spiders these past few weeks.

I wonder the same thing about the spiders in my room. Did they really come up here, or are they breeding? And if so, how did they survive that long? I guess they can eat mites and stuff like that.

Based on what has happened earlier this evening, I believe it's the latter.

I lost sight of one spider, then discovered 3 more in the desk corner of my room... one of which was an inch wide and was the free-roaming kind - the worst. I thought "I can't go to sleep with that thing in my room!" My mom took it outside (despite my fear, I can't stand it when they die needless deaths), but I was pretty scared for a few minutes. Never before have I so wanted to kill something so bad.

Spiders are good. They do you a favor by getting rid of other unwanted bugs. With this roach nest, I wish I had even more spiders.

Yeah. My mom wants to remove the spiders and put them near some plants in the garden where there's a lot of ants or something.

they eat ants? i didnt know that.

garden spiders are supose to be great in keeping certain bugs away.
