    The "Needed Item" Trick

This is pretty simple. Say that you need a certain sword for an invisible event to activate. Well, you can't do that. Only treasures can be used when you need something in an invisible event. So... make a treasure with the same name as the sword. The treasure will activate the invisible event, and you can get the treasure at the same time as the sword. This works with everything... but there's one flaw. Say, that you sell the sword!! You can't put anything to make you lose the treasure. If there's any way to perfect this flaw, post here. Remember, this works with items, armour, accersories, etc... not just swords. Have fun!

Why not just use a variable when you get the sword and put the price to 0?

If the sword is not in a shop, it should work. I know it goes against the quote in your signature, but you'll have to deal with it. You could use a mode-change also, by the way...

Well, yeah. I guess you could use variables. And put the price to 0. Maybe the title should be The "Needed Item" Trick (For people who hate variables).

But when using the variable, you could even return the sword to a person. People don't have a treasure check.

Variables are your friend. You should never hate them.

            If you hate variables...

you're not cut out for RPGM2!!

            Change your signature.

You'll just get frustrated and feel like you wasted your money.

Making games - even on a console maker - is Programming of a sort.

            For that you NEED variables!!

If you don't enjoy pounding your face against a logic problem until your nose is bleeding, stick with 3.

            MOO!
