Help! My Maxdrive won't work right!

I managed to download Series 1: Destiny Beckons onto my Maxdrive (just go it today) just fine. But when I go to put it on the memory card I put the disk in the PS2 and turn it on and the the damn thing just makes some kind of whirring sound, flashes reading disk for about 5 minutes, then says Disk Read Error. Once I got it to say "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation2 format disk" (I momentarily thought it had worked, damn it!) My Ps2 is old though (and its not a slim one) so I made sure it was laying flat. I'm fairly sure there is nothing wrong with the disk, so if there is nothing anyone can tell me to make it work, then I'll just have to borrow a friend's slim Ps2 and see if it works there.

First of all, thank you for downloading my game, Ivan. Second of all, when I first got my max drive, I had exactly the same problem. The advice I was given when I made a thread similar to this one (except that I wasn't downloading my own yet-to-be-made game, of course ) was to place the PS2 vertically. I also have an old fat PS2, and guess what? I placed it vertically, and it worked just fine.

I'm surprised the Max Drive disk doesn't slide off to the edge of the tray where the rotator can't catch it.

How does it stay in place sideways?

Yeah, my fat PS2 was having a big problem reading the blue-back disks (The Maxdrive Disk is one of those). I was sometimes able to get it working after sticking in the disk (and resetting the PS2) maybe five or six times. I had to eventually get a slim PS2 though, which proved to be much less frustrating in the long run.

Your friend's slim PS2 shouldn't have any problem reading the Max Drive disk.
