    Metroid: Zero Mission

Just beat it earlier this afternoon. Wow! It was alot of fun. Did anyone else like it?

I have a question, when you get to the mothership at the end, before beating the final boss, can you go back to Zebes to get the stuff you missed? There were some areas on Zebes that are too hot even with the Varia suit, but you don't get the other suit until the end, so I imagine there has to be a way.

I really loved it until I got to the stealth crap at the end. Then, I never played it again.

They just added that part to explain the damaged ship in Super Metroid. I found it kinda unneccesary, actually. Especially the new final boss.

Oh, and I definately liked the game. Aside from how it still pointed you from area to area like the last few Metroid games, I still felt like I had more freedom to explore than in especially Fusion.

I thought it was awesome. A lot better than Fusion.

The stealth section lasts maybe 30 minutes tops! Then you get your suit back. The whole last part of the game kicks ass. You get to see some cool Chozo stuff when you get the suit back and the ending leads right into Prime.

You can go back down. It's been a while but, I think you break the glass corridor like in Super Metroid.

Dude, go back and finish the game. It'll take you 15 minutes.

Metroid Zero Mission is pure, fun-as-hell gameplay. MORE PORTABLE METROID......2-D PORTABLE METROID.

I hope they make another handheld Metroid game. I'll try that corridor trick later.

You mean besides the one coming out on DS?

Yeah, me too. I have enough fun with the 3D Metroid games, but you can't ignore the series' roots.

Well, they are, but it's Metroid Prime Hunters. I'm sure it'll be fine if the controls turn out okay but... it just won't compare to the awesome 2D games.

I mean, MMF. Fighting Kraid and Ridley on a handheld?! Listening to their BADASS MUSIC?! YEAHHHH.

I'm still not able to get off the ship.

I broke the glass, but it just led to a Super Missle powerup. At the very least, I have a few more super missles now.

Did you try exploring the other side of the hill under the broken glass?

And I think the fact that I'm currently trying to play through this game while obtaining only the power-ups that are necessary speaks of my love for this game by itself.

Incidently, did you know you don't need the long shot?

The Longshot is in this game? Are you talking about the long-rage laser, or the grappling beam?

Anyway I'll try it again in a few. I want to re-explore the game again, I'll probably playthrough it again very soon.

                        I assume the long-range laser.

                          Re: Metroid: Zero Mission

The first time I played I just went straight through.

The second time I played Hard mode and went for 100% completion. (Which was a serious *****)

The third time I played Easy. Meh to that.

The fourth time I did a speed run on Easy.

The fifth time, speed run on Normal.

sixth time, speed run on hard. My speed runs finished the game in about 1 hr 15 min.

nth time, trying to beat the game with only 15% collection rate. I've tried this twice already and ended up with 20-22%. So now I'm trying to get as little as possible. This is difficult since the game throws so many power-ups at you that you can't avoid easily, or sometimes at all.

So far I've unlocked almost all the gallery pics except one. You get different pictures depending on which mode you played in, even if you finish in under 2 hours.

But I need to exit the ship to get 100%.

I made it! Thanks guys, I can't believe I missed the exit. Now I'm finding all the stuff I missed.

How many energy tanks are there? I have six. Are there more or did I already get them all?

I loved Metroid: Zero Mission. The Metroid series should STAY 2-D.
