fine art of horror and sound

so here is a sneak peek at some new work
i am working on for my show in november.
the show is called, "Colorilo Morti", which
in italian means, "color me dead". the work
will consist of about 8 paintings in total
    and several investigative drawings. horror
imagery is my focus, for the movie gurus
out there you might recognize the images
from films by dario argento. the paintings
will act primarily as the "snapshot" of the crime
scene. the drawings will lean more towards
the murderers handbook. an inside look into
the workings of his mind. more than just
    evidence, but also imagination.

    enjoy

i also have a rare track from a concept album
i did in 2001. i dont believe i have shared this
with anyone here so download it and take
a trip down dream drone lane.

let it go (love by radio edit)

    here are the pics

I wish I could attend this show... I'd love to see your work (and mr. spaceman) in person.

My favorite is the first one you posted. Send me a print or something!

I'm looking forward to seeing your progress. If you let me down, I'll mail you another horrible anime DVD.

Those are such wonderful paintings! So much raw expression... I am most fond of #3. Maybe it strikes a chord with me because I don't like the dark? But they're all awesome. I wish I could attend the show too!

just a heads up everyone, the countdown to
this show is just a couple weeks away now.
the paintings are definitely coming together
and they will be accompanied by 6 drawings.
i will have final images up when the show is
            hung.

            see you all soon.

the show is at "alchemy gallery". it is
located in fountain square, which is about
5 minutes southeast of downtown. if you
need more info let me know and i can provide.

I dunno why, but number 4 with the screaming mouth is amazing to me. Then again, I have always been unnaturally (albeit artistically) attracted to the focus of the nose and mouth in images. ^_^

Edit - Wait..this is in Indianapolis? Dude, that's only four hours away...it just may be worth it...

                          thanks for the kind words...
the final images i am really happy
with so far. i am very close to
being finished, then i can relax
for the rest of the month until
                          we hang the show.

well the show is up and it was
a great night. lots of really wild
responses as well. for the most
                            part, people were surprisingly
                            unfamiliar with the italian horror
                            film genre but thats ok...the
work got them asking a lot of
questions and i was very happy
                            with the results.

as promised, here are the final
images of the work as it is in the
gallery. one of the paintings i tried
to photo got a lot of glare so you
wont get to see a solo shot of it but
you will see it in the group shot.

                            enjoy and goodnight.
