    EB Games Rant

In a change of plans we went to the city today. I bought a Gamecube, two games. The Gamecube came with a controller. And I asked he clerk " Does the Gamecube come with everything I need to play?". He says " Yes " I get home open it up. No memory card. So now I can't play Legend Of Zelda: Twighlight Princess or Metriod Prime, because of some stupid clerk. Luckly a store in our tiny town sells GC Memory cards. Thye get a new shipment Tuesday.

he could of easily sold him a card. atleast mentioned that he may want a card to play his new system. its all about upgrading and selling the full package. if your going to buy a whole system its pretty obvious your not buying it because you have a stay gamecube card that you wana buy a system for.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!
Card Three is released! You can find it here!

I'm shocked. An opportunity to sell a peripheral and they didn't take advantage of it? Any decent salesperson KNOWS that selling a system is a perfect time to push a memory card, just because it IS necessary.

Where I work we don't include memory cards with systems. If they require them you can be sure I mention that to them.

I don't think any place includes memory cards with their systems. I would say you should have known to get a memory card, but that clerk should have known that you would need one. Doesn't make sense as to why he wouldn't try to sell you one. Not many people have a memory card before the system.

Thing that basically made me stop buying anyting from EB was how they ****ing store brand new games in paper envelopes under their desk.

WTF. It supposed to be NEW! NOT STRATCHED OR ANYTHING! Which was what I always get when I buy games there. So I stopped going there.

Now its Future Shop or bust.

EB's still around? I thought they all assimilated into GameStops.

At least with the new generation you don't need a memory card when you get a system, unless you get a used PS3 and the previous owner removed the hard drive, but there's no PS3 memory cards anyway. You'd just have to make do with a USB flash drive I guess.

It sucks that the clerk was such a dip****. People who work at places like that should be tested on their product knowledge before getting hired.

Manager: "I'm sorry sir, but you failed the test."
                        Applicant: "What did I miss?"
Manager: "You are supposed to offer a memory card with every system purchase."
Applicant: "What the **** is a memory card?"

They could have at least asked him if he wanted to reserve a memory card.

Ture... I thought I was going to get the game in that paper thing when he grabbed it. I was like thinking "wait There may be used but they still should come with a case." The only reason why I like EB games is for buying games you can find used games in perfect condidtion. Well maybe on scratch or two. But it still runs fine. and you can save money. I try to save as much money as possible on things. The only games I don't buy or those five dollar games, because they're there for a reason. Except that Namco Classic arcade games. Which runs on PS2. But I got that at Future Shop. Well my mom did because it had galaga which is her favourite game of all time.
