Rollercoasters!

I went to Six Flags Great America for my 5 year sobriety anniversary, and rode all the coasters in the park. What's your favorite coaster (or ride) and at which amusement park?


My favorites from yesterday were probably:

The Viper (best wooden coaster I've been on....I thought I was gonna fly off the track a few times),

Vertical Velocity (the coaster is shaped in a "U" shape, and you start the ride from stop to 55-60 mph in like 1 second...then it goes up the 90% incline, to the top, and falls back, now travelling backwards, toward the other "arm" of the "U"...it does this a few times before the ride is over)

Deja Vu (similar to the above, but it's got a few turns and a loop in it).

I love the Millenium Force and the Raptor. I also want to try out the two newest coasters there, as I haven't been on either one.

In all seriousness, I love coasters. My faves are...

Dueling Dragons at Islands of Adventure in Orlando. Think the Batman coaster, but 2 of 'em going at the same time w/ near misses crossing each other and coming close to each other. Really neat!!!

Raging Bull at Six Flags Chicago. Holy crap what an incline on the first drop!!! And, after that, some great loops.

Vertical Velocity is freaking sick. Hanging by only the chest harness in the front row is SCARY AS HELL.

i went to canadas wonderland last tuesday and where beaten up by the wooden "great canadain mindbuster." out of all the coasters in the park, that one did deserve its 5 staff for harshness rating.

my favorite ride that way was probably something called the hammer or atleast looked like one. it was a circle that spun around and moved back and forth like a pendulum, but it went nearly about 45 degrees upside down and was fast.

10 years ago, the last time i went or so, my favorite was topgun.

yea, those lines are the worst. longest ive waited was an hour but some of the estimated waits in some lines are 2 hours. who would stand around for 2 hours just to go on a 30 second ride? best to go when the park opens and hit all the rides you can before they fill up, also just before closing time is a good time to get on the more longer lined rides.

Only time I remember riding a rollercoaster was nearly 20 years ago. I don't remember if I liked it or not but I have a fear of heights so probably didn't.

You'd think I'd be able to offer a better opinion on this.

But really I haven't been on any good roller coasters to speak of.

Unless you count Skycoaster.
