watch this video, and tell me what ya think

    http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/231633

this is a newgrounds video of a possible senerio of nuclear war with china.

though it is very well writen and exicuted, i think it displayed a serous message. it has me questioning; can this happen?

those who think the cold war is over and the world is away from the threat of nuclear holocost can guess again, the threat of destruction is still present in our day and will forever remain so as long as humanity possesses dangerous super weapons.

the final quote at the end sums up everything nicely.

    what do you foaks think?

If this scenario actually happens, I hope it's a lot less boring than that.

And playing "What A Wonderful World" while showing scenes of ruin?! That's amazing! How do they come up with this!!

If anything starts a nuclear war, it's likely to be over oil. China and Japan are in conflict as we speak over oil reserves, as are India and China. The conflicts aren't violent, yet, but they exist and are a threat. As America tries to hold onto Iraq, having the world's second largest oil reserves waiting to be exploited and an angry Iraqi populace that wants their oil to themselves(and wants their own oil to themselves rightfully so) and not American businesses, this Iraq conflict could get much worse than it is.

Make no mistake. Many of these governments didn't want us going into Iraq because *they* want that oil too. China wants the oil. Russia wants the oil. India wants the oil. Even the French government wanted in on lucrative oil deals that would have gone away would America invade(and it did). The populations of those countries, on the other hand, were and are genuinely against the Iraq war because it is illegal, it's costly in lives and money, and it is doing more harm than good.

Just think. A few years from now, it may be revealed in the mainstream news media that we PASSED peak oil production, of which the economic implications, the inflation, unemployment, and poverty all of which would be drastic because a few rich people were too greedy and concerned with profits to let the governments and peoples of other nations switch to alternatives that had become technologically viable. The pessimists believe peak has passed very early this decade, the centrists believe it will be this year or shortly after this year by a few years, and the optimists say it's 20+ years from now.

And if there's anything that will start a nuclear war, it's that vary substance that the power elite has forced society to be reliant on in the never-ending quest for short-term profits. Too bad the power elite all have their own private bunkers sealed off from the rest of the world, payed for with our taxes, should things turn sour, whereas the rest of us get to reap the consequences of their actions.

In the case of a nuclear catastrophie, they get their bunkers and mountain-installations(by invitation from Uncle Scam), and the rest of us get the nuclear fallout and chaos.

In the case of civil unrest resulting from no available cheap oil and no wide-spread nuclear catastrophie(either no nukes used or only a few major cities hit), the power elite, defined by sociologist C. Wright Mills as the top people in U.S. corporations, military, and politics who make the nation's major decisions, will have everything they need to still live comfortably while everone else aain gets the short end of the stick.

Besides, Bush having his finger on the red button, would be more likely to initiate nuclear war than China. China, oppressive as they are, are at least stable in policy.

China and America won't start a nuclear war, with them so involved in the Global Economy.

Butmthen again, you're assuming there always will be a 'global economy'.

All it takes is for the black gold to run a little too short, and it's a very realistic possibility.

Oil is the only thing running the global economy?

No, but the lack of being able to get it cheap can outright devastate the global economy, rendering it worthless.

Yeah, so then America and China would decide, HEY! Let's kill everyone!

I doubt we would care if China skull banged North Korea. We would probably help them.

In the case their targets have oil or are competing with them for oil, yes.

                              It was also cliched.

I was hoping I'd see more nukes being thrown about after Manhattan and Hong Kong were hit.
