Here I will explain the evolution of my art, the close attachment of my characters and what they represent to me and also where and who their origins originated from or are Based upon. All the artwork that goes in here was drawn by me, and is welcomed to any helpful criticism.

My influences are Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball, Sand Land), Isutoshi (Slut Girl, Tende Freeze!), and Oh Great!(Silky Whip, Tenjou Tenge). I idolize all of them for their different designs of their characters and stories. I can only hope that I even get to be a fraction as famous as them.

I think I have a lot of potential, as my drawings have lots of style, and are unique, and I have never been in a art class, that actually thought me how to refine my skill. Lets start off with my favorite....

Leon Hiroshima a.k.a the Vandal KING
Age: 10 years
Character age: 14-16

BIO: My flagship character. He was the very first character I ever made, and he has deeper roots than the pictures you see here. As I stated, his design is based from Musashi from Brave Fencer Musashi, as I was young and I always viewed my attitude to be somewhat like Musashi's and I wanted Leon to reflect me. I was about 7 or 8 when I first designed and named Leon.

I remember having a hard time picking a name for him, but luckily my brother Kumo, was playing through Resident Evil 2 as Leon at the time. I watched the opening FMV with him, and quickly knew what I would name this character. His last name is of course, the same name of one of the cities that were bombed in Japan. This little reference plays into his story, as he has a rival with a weird last name as well. It's been a while since I drew him.

His story has elements taken from Dragon Ball, and Brave Fencer Musashi's stories. Hopefully I'll be able to finally create something that tells the story well.

Bolt a.k.a the Memory KING
Age: 6 years
Character age: 14

Evolution

N/A, His design rarely changes

BIO: Every artist needs a hero that is robotic in some way, shape or form. That is what Bolt is. Bolt is my second created character who wields a legendary light saber, called the Blizzard Rose. I created Bolt from sheer boredom one day, but as I kept defining parts of him, I began to become entranced at his overall design. He is a reflection of my more courageous side as his story has him going against many enemies several hundred feet bigger than him.

Bolt's name is of course, based a on bolt of lighting. He had a last name, but I decided not to post it, and do a few editing on his info. His design is unique in his world as he can swap out multiple gadgets and numerous odds and ends he finds in his story to help him.

His world is based underground, kinda like Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter's is.

I thought Bolt was named after like... nuts and bolts.

But hey, Thora Birch's brother is named Bolt, so whatever.

As far as your drawing goes, it's obvious you are improving and it looks like you have a pretty good hold of shapes and and composition. The proportions look pretty good too.

as my drawings have lots of style, and are unique

You should get a reality check though. I go to a high school and I know there are about 20 kids that draw exactly the same as you. Nothing inherently wrong with drawing the way you do, but you should stop giving yourself so much credit.

Heh, that's nice. Every style is unique to the artist's hand. Anime is the style I use, and a lot of people use it as well. So I think that's why "20 kids that draw exactly the same as me". It's the subtle things like the colors and shapes of the characters that give them uniqueness. There maybe people who draw anime LIKE ME, but no one will ever be able to capture my essence in how I draw. Same goes for any other artist.

Basically, I see everyone's art as unique.

That's quite a unique perspective.

I liked your 'early' example pic the most.

I like the style of everything except the face. I can never draw faces either, don't worry.

Yeah, it's anime-esque. Big deal. I know plenty of good artists that started with anime that now can draw other things quite well.

I like Bolt much better. Even though his body looks thin even for a robot, his shoulders look pretty cool. His joints are also pretty neat. I would love to see that in color.

But I'm sorry, I have to agree with Tex Ritter on Leon / style as it looks pretty generic to me.

Oh, and did you use the gradient tool or just one little click of a brush stroke on the belt? Either way, the rest of the picture is colored MUCH better than this. It sticks out like a sore thumb.

I see i-Robot when I look at Bolt.

I like all your art, but I agree that it's not really "unique". I've seen art just like it a bazillion times before. That doesn't make it bad though, it just tends to blend in with all the other anime art I've seen.
