    **** you, wii.

I have had it with this damn system.

    no, not the games.

    not the controller.

    its the online features.

it always connects quickly in the connection test. always.

it will often spout error messages for days/weeks saying that wii connect 24 isnt enabled, when it is. it will say it can't find the network, and then connect to it just fine in the connection test.

the only way I can get it online and stay online is to go to the forecast channel first, and hope it connects (sometimes it will just crash the system and send it to an eternal black screen, which can only be remedied by unplugging it). once/if it connects, I'll have access to the forecast channel, news channel, and messages from my friends with wiis just fine. unless I go to the shop channel, where it immediately disconnects and gives errors. I have only gotten the shop channel to load six times since I got the system in december.

I love the Wii. But this is bull****. the connection test always connects just fine. when I have a connection, all non-shop channels load quickly. The DS has never given me a problem unless there's a fan or something nearby. the PSP never had a problem. the PS3 doesnt have a problem. only the Wii.

I'm sending an e-mail to nintendo. I've put up with this for too damn long. I want it fixed. if they tell me to buy one of those USB adapters I'll lie and say I already had one and it didnt help. only ONE channel refuses to work. the adapter isnt gonna fix that.

The online aspect is the only thing I like. I haven't had any problems. But then I got one of those USB adapters. You should probably get one of those USB adapters.

The good news is, they have a system that has them send you a new Wii, and then you send back your old one. No need for downtime with it. That's what I used to get mine replaced. And I got it here with haste, within a week of requesting it.

Just, when you call them, bypass all the "if you want to do such-and-such, press this number" crap. It won't get you anywhere. Just go straight to a real person.

I had those problems too. But usually it works fine when I use the wifi adapter.

Yeah, sounds like a problem with your Wii. Nintendo has a good customer service reputation so hopefully you'll get it replaced hassle-free. Good luck.

I just don't want to lose my Miis and VC games.

Yeah I have the same problem. It's not compatible with my router's frequency. So it had trouble connecting to the wireless network. I only use online features at night.

I had the same problem, I recently got the adapter thing, and now it works fine.

The problem is probably that your router can't support your Wii running on it because it already has too many things running on it. Getting the Wi-Fi Adapter gives the Wii its own access point.

but every online channel works, aside from the shop channel. hell, after about 20 tries, I finally got the metroid preview thing downloaded, and trying to go back to the shop channel main screen, it lost the connection and told me wiiconnect24 wasnt enabled. I then exited, went to the metroid preview channel, and connected through that just fine and watched the videos without a problem.

the adapter would fix that, even if it's exclusively the shop channel that has problems?

I always have a problem with the internet connectivity. I don;t know why, but it always seems to work after I disconnect all my GCN stuff from it. Like they are interfering or somthing.

                    Although it's probably just coincidence.

Valk, that is the exact same thing that happened to me, I could go to every channel except for the VC, and when I got to the VC, I couldn't download anything thing, because of how slow it was.

Once I got the adapter, it worked perfectly fine.

sounds like nintendo planned this, to get more money from that damn adapter.

How do you think they get the DS to print money?

Well then, if you do resort to getting your system replaced, you'll have to send in your Wii first so that they can transfer your VC games and stuff. I only had to worry about my Miis, so all I needed to do was put them all in my Wiimote and paste them into my new Wii. Losing my Twilight Princess save was no big deal; I already beat it.

Although you probably already knew all that.
