    Video Game woes.

Well, I've been missing the first disc to Lunar: Silver Star Story, but recently I found it. I started a new game, and made it to the second disc, but guess what, the second disc doesn't work! So, I'm like: 'Ok, no big deal, I'll take it over to Gamecrazy and have them buff it for me'.

So, yesterday I took it to Gamecrazy to see what they could do. The lady there said that it looked like someone took the disc and scraped it on the side of a glass table. So, after buffing it, she puts it in the PS3 they have there and tries it out. It makes it further than it usually makes it. (It usually doesn't even show the PS1 logo.) She hits the New Game button, and then a grey screen... Not good, so I'm like 'Well, it is disc 2, maybe it just won't let you start a new game on it. Even though they normally say Insert Disc One'.

So, I take it home and try it out. The games loads fine so I'm pretty happy, but then I head through a door... Black screen for about 3 minutes... So I reset the game, this time I avoid the door all together and get into a battle. The battle was working better than before, and then I used a spell, and the game completely froze.

So, it looks like I might have an unfixable problem with the disc, so Ebay here I come!

What are some of the sad stories you have about your games?

Looks like that's the only way, man. I was lucky enough to get my hands on Lunar Silver Star for only $41 bucks...and that was nearly 4 years ago.

My old PS2 hated Xenogears. The laser scratched the discs beyond recognition.

Yeah, good luck with getting Lunar for a reasonable price. An old "friend" ran off with mine.

An older copy of Banjo-Kazooie broke. One of those metal connectors broke off, far as I could tell. I had to get a new copy.

I lost my copy of Pokémon Blue. In my parents' car. Wound up under the seat and wasn't seen again for months. I got a new copy along the way, and when the old one was finally found, I was suprised to find that it still worked.

Pokémon Crystal, on the other hand, has a dead battery. Nintendo won't replace those, anymore. Bummer, 'cause it's my favorite of the series. Which is why I'm hoping the rumors of a DS remake are true.

When I got my PS(one) some years ago, I also got Tony Hawk 2 and Final Fantasy 8. And a third-party memory card. I'm sure you can guess what happened. I made it all the way to the third disk, too.

Our Soul Calibur disc is horribly warped. We've been able to get it to the character selection screen, but it wigs out immediatley after.

And Super Adventure Island just went to a black screen.

I bought Wild Arms 2, without checking if the second disk was there.

Oh wait, nevermind. That's a good thing, right?

Sure is. Probably the only good time to be missing a disk.
