    Latency issues

Seems that aside from a few comments, I don't make topics unless it's computer trouble. But here I go again.

My latency has turned to pure ****. WoW says it's pulling like 0-15ms, then goes to hell and later on says lieke 800-1800ms. The lag is as though the computer isn't even receiving info from the modem.

My roommate can play just fine... but when I get on, my connection AND his turns bad. I'm thinking it's my computer. I tried setting up the router for the best QoS possible, and it's still not working.

I'm assuming I have spyware or some kind, eating up my connection. Any idea why this could've just happened recently? Any recommendations on what to do? Downloading avast! at the moment to try and see if that fixes the problem. And I've already reset the router to default settings as well.
    Keep the change.

Try downloading ProcessExplorer or some other 3rd party task manager and see if anything odd is running. It may be hiding itself from the default task manager.

I usually just punch my computer until it works, so I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Graphics card? That may be the problem.

One of the tricks I've seen is processes named the same as or similar to important windows processes. Anything odd like an scvhost (note: not svchost) or a second firefox.exe?

You might wanna try port forwarding WoW.
It used to do the same thing to me, but now after I did this, doesn't do it anymore.

Here's a place where you can find out how to forward your ports.
