    How debilitating is Marijuana?

It's one of the safest drugs there is, damn safer than alcohol, that's for sure. It's easier to overdose on water than it is on THC. But why is it still illegal then? It's proven to reduce risks of certain cancers, and groups of benine tumors. So, just how debilitating is it? This ponders me, I've also seen this drug save lives in "the office." So, I'm pretty liberal on the subject.

(the office is what i call the chemotherepy clinic i go to)

Many reasons it's illegal, all of which are stupid.
Tons and tons of info on the internet, just search for it.

And now the Toecutter will demonstrate through several sources and citations that it's a conspiracy. Something about the drug companies using the government to bar marijuana use because it works better than most of their medicines and can be grown at home for pennies.
            ...and that's why.

              Re: How debilitating is Marijuana?

But why is it still illegal then?
You can grow it yourself for free. since it eases pain associated with cancer and chemotherapy, and you can grow it for free, that means you can grow your own medicine for free. The pharmaceutical industry thus feels threatened, hence it's illegal. Many of their painkilling drugs are derived from this plant. Thus marijuana is illegal to keep your money flowing to the pharmaceutical industries.

You can make fuel from it. Oil industry doesn't want biodiesel to become mainstream, and both hemp and marijuana are the easiest ways to make biodiesel mainstream given our land use constraints. Thus marijuana is illegal to keep your money flowing to the petrochemical industries.

You can make plastics from it. Thus marijuana is illegal to keep your money flowing to the petrochemical industries again.

The defense industries are making a killing off of the 'war on drugs', providing equipment to law enforcement. This comes from your tax dollars and costs Americans over $30 billion a year. Thus marijuana is illegal to keep your money flowing to the defense industries.

The prison industry is making lots of cash off of the over 500,000 a year thrown in jail for posession or consumption of marijuana. Nearly half of all prisoners are held for non-violent offenses pertaining to drug possession. A lucrative business, the prison-industrial complex rakes in over $40 billion per year, most from our tax dollars. Thus marijuana is illegal to keep your money flowing to the prison industries.

Plus, the government loves using the drug war as an excuse to expand its beureacracy. It has lead to the end of the 4th amendment starting during the Nixon years, and has gotten worse ever since, allowing warrantless searches, warrantless confiscation of property, and depending on state, even government mandated drug testing(Such as among school children). Even corporations are getting in on it, seeking to dehumanize their labor source further. Thus marijuana is illegal to keep your money flowing to the federal government in the form of tax dollars and also illegal as an excuse to whittle down your civil liberties.

See where this is going? Disgusting, don't you agree? Now we got the 'war on terrorism' along WITH the 'war on drugs' to erase even more of our constitutionally-garunteed rights. Lets see how big this overbloated piece of **** government can get. See how much big business props the government up to suit its profit interests, and see how much more our government props up big business to return the favor. And both will continue to grow bigger ad-infinum, with us taxpayers being scammed out of our money like no tomorrow. Execs give to politicians the campaign money, and politicians give back. Away with them both, and you solve the problem.

it makes people act stupid. so does alchohol. if I had my way, alchohol would be illegal for this reason alone. same with marijuana.

if it makes people act stupid, make it illegal. I'm tired of people running down cedar street singing in wierd made up languages and reeking of pot.

Abuse and moderation are totally different things, dear Mora.
