Picked it up today along with Guild Wars. Havent played it yet, but i'm sure it will be good. And even though it is the spiritual successor to Hoshigami (which most people hate, but i would love to find again at a decent price), it doesnt have the stuff people hated about Hoshigami.
Stella Deus is really cool. It's not without it's flaws, of course. The sidequests are really crappy (Catacombs and Guild Missions), the voice acting is... awkward, and it isn't really flashy. However, the game has a strong art direction and what polish the game lacks on the surface, it more than makes up for in it's well balanced combat.
Not really, you can easily keep your characters from dying, it just requires alot of strategy. You cant just send your characters in, guns blazing, because if you rush into an enemy, and get one hit on him, he can hit you 3 or 4 times, depending upon his attack. Your movement and attacks are based on CP, i think it is CP, so if a guy is standing right next to you, you can hit him as many times as you have CP.
Its actually a very good system, and does require a bit of strategy.
Oh, and anyone actually have Hoshigami that would be willing to sell it to me? i was dumb and sold my copy a while back for some reason, and i'd like to get it back.
