Another Gamestop rant....

Ugh...I go in, and ask if they have World of Warcraft bundled together with the expansion pack at a cheaper price like they have on the website.

Well the girl says, "World of Warcraft? Hmmm, what sytem is that for?"

After that, she looks it up, and after a while, she can't find it. Well there is the manager over beside her. He looks it up and says it doesn't exist, but they do have a Warchest version that I can pre-order.

I ask if that is cheaper than buying both individually. Apparently not. Then I asked if they just had some of the regular copies. Well apparently he wasn't done trying to get me to pre-order the Warchest version.

So I just walked out and bought them at Target.

So what other lovely stories do you guys have?

There is a guy that's worked for Ebgames for 11 years. Thus, I get excellent service. Before the merge of Gamestop and EBgames, EB was awsome.

I haven't had any problems with gamestop. Oddly enough, I've been having a hell of a time with Best Buy lately. I just wanted to order a dvd.... I didn't want to wait over 2 months for it.

I prefer Game Crazy....but the 2 I've been to have awesome employees, so this might just be a coincidence.

Yeah, I've found Game Crazy to have nicer people too. But the website is just so much better then Game Crazy's when you're trying to find a rare game.

I remember, a long time ago......when I was about 10 pounds lighter.....walking into a GameStop and finding a jewel case for King of Fighters 95 for the original PlayStation. Me wanted it badly. Me took jewel case to retailer and asked him to kindly retrieve it. Three minutes later.....they say they don't have it. I ask him why is this jewel case still out there? He tells me......I'll never forget these words....

".....I'unno."

Fortunately the Gamestop near where i live has some relatively knowledgeable people. Unfortunately the people there are in their mid 20's and act like they are 16 years old.

Even better the EB near where i work has awesome people that know what they are talking about, and they dont try to push crap on me that i dont want.

I havent had a bad experience with a gamestop in a while.

Hehe, around that. After that rather unfortunate King of Fighters 95 debacle, I was very, very sad. I drowned my sorrow by eating pretzels and hamburgers the whole day. Which probably explains my weight gain.

I hold GameStop personally responsible for that. I plan to file a lawsuit.

I don't go to GameStop a lot but I haven't had any problems. They'll always ask if I want to pre-order anything but I say no and that's that. And they always offer me the discount card and GI subscription but again no hounding. I like Babbage's more though, even after the merge. It's where I bought my slim PS2, a couple weeks before the official date without any pre-order or anything. I went to ask when they'd have them, guy said they have one left from the early shipment. KA-CHING!

over and over. And usually it's a game that I'm not interested in.

I get a lot of that, too.

There was this one time when I actually put down a reservation on a game just to shut them the **** up. When it was released, I just cancelled it and put my $10 for another game that I really wanted.

A month or two back I went to gamestop to see if I could find a few older xbox titles. They didn't have Shenmue 2 or Psychonauts, so I inquired about a copy of Silent Hill 4.

The clerk asked if I had played any of the other games in the series. I said "Yes, I've finished all of them. But my copy of 4 is an import, and I'm looking for a cheap US version." She then proceeded to tell me that 4 was the worst in the series and I might not want to buy it. I laughed and said "Yes, I know, I've played it. Do you have a used copy for xbox?" Then she tried to tell me about how I should plunk down $250 for a PSP because Origins was gonna rock.

I got a brand new copy of SH4 somewhere else for about $10.
