Maybe I have my nose too high in the air, and consider my tastes too sophisticated, but toilet humour really does nothing for me. Maybe if I was 8 years old, I might find it funny, but as a full-grown adult, I don't find it in the least bit funny. In comedy films, it's pretty much become an established genre (gross-out comedies), so I know there is a market for it. I'm just not part of that market. If anyone cares to do so, please post a defense for this type of comedy, because I would really like to know what people see in it.
Case in point: Dogma. The George Carlin stuff was funny, and as much as I really do not like Kevin Smith's films (Chasing Amy being the exception), I had to admit, Dogma wasn't bad...until the introduction of the s*it monster. IMHO, that kinda ruined the whole movie for me. So much so that without it, I would have probably rated the film as a 7 or 8 out of ten, but instead feel the need to rate it at about a 5 or 6. Sue me, those are just my tastes.
