Tales of Innocence, and Tales of Symphonia 2!

    Another Tales of....

They chug these out faster than Naruto games. Although this one looks promising. It's for the DS. And Tales of Symphonia 2: Knight or Ratatosk info. It is for the Wii.

Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk info

    - Takes place 3 years after Tales of Symphonia on Cube
    - Two heroes: Emile Castagnie and Malta, both 16 years old
    - Characters from Tales of Symphonia will be present, but not playable (as far as we know)
    - Move by pointing the Wiimote in the direction you want to go
    - You are able to capture monsters and use them during battle. To also note the possibility of capturing creatures and of making use of it during the battles

I think it's because they've shifted their main series focus to the DS in a move similar to that of Dragon Quest, according to prominent JP news source Magic Box.

Don't you own a DS and a Wii though? You can get the games still. Tales of Rebirth is coming to PSP anyway and Tales of Destiny DX doesn't have a platform yet so it might be on PS2.

I love the tales games. I started playign relatively late at Symphonia but have been hooked ever since. Symphonia was awesome, I'm playing Abyss right now, and I have played the GBA version of Phantasia. I'm thinking of importing Eternia (Tales of Destiny II) from Europe.

I wish we'd get more localizations of tales games too, I mean ToD 2, Tales of Rebirth, Tales of the World 1, 2 and 3, Tales of the Tempest, all games that haven't and probably won't ever see the light of day in North America/Europe. Makes me cry

I do declare... that I just exploded in my pants. Two games that I WILL be buying. Screw reviews... I'm getting both when they come out. The Tales series, imo, is the best and always will be the best. They pump out amazing storylines and spectacular character development (especially Symphonia and Abyss). Unlike Square, they focus on every isngle main character and give them life, unlike what you see in even the biggest FF games like FF7. Sephiroth, Cloud, Tifa, and Aeris stole the show while the rest got some back story. Symphonia and Abyss got every main character involved and always had something to add to the plot. Thats' why I like the series. Forget battle systems and super graphics, RPGs are about stories and their characters.

But the tales games actualy have fun and engaging battle systems. I agree everything KA said, the Tales games are really good RPGs.

However, It's possible these two gems won't make it to North America. Only 8 of the 19 Tales games in existance are available to English speakers, and that included Tales of Eternia which must be imported from Europe. That's 42%. 42%.

For reference, these are all the Tales games made:

              Tales of Phantasia (Available-GBA)
              Tales of Destiny (Available-PS)
Tales of the World (Not Available)
Tales of the World 2 (Not Available)
Tales of the World 3 (Not Available)
Tales of the World: Summoner's Lineage (Not Available)
              Tales of Destiny II (Available-PS)
Tales of Destiny 2 (Not Available)
Tales of Eternia (Available through European import-PSP)
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology (Available)
Tales of the Tempest (Not Available)
              Tales of Innocence (Not Available)
              Tales of the Abyss (Available)
              Tales of Symphonia (Available)
              Tales of Legendia (Available)
              Tales of Rebirth (Not Available)
Tales of Eternia Online (Not Available)
Tales of Fandom Vol. 1(Not Available)
Tales of Fandom Vol. 2 (Not Available)

Bear in mind that those listed as not available aren't necessarily not coming to NA, but have only yet to get a US release date.

Symphonia 2 will make it to the US, otherwise, a ton of US fans will ***** and set fire to Namco buildings everywhere. I'm sure Symphonia 2 will make it, Innocence, not so sure, but it'll be the first DS Tales game, which could bring the market and interest of the Tales series back over here.

Well Tales of the Tempest was kinda meh, it was geared towards younger gamers, since the main characters were ~15ish rather than ~17ish, and it wasn't nearly as hard or had nearly as much depth as the others. Same thing goes for the Tales of the World games.

But yeah, if Symphonia 2 doesn't reach NA shores I'll fly over to Japan and burn some of Namco's buildings down.

If I remember right, they couldn't use "Eternia" because of Mattel and He-Man. I've played most of those, save for Eternia and the "World" games. Only ones I've finished are Phantasia, Destiny, and Symphonia. I didn't like Rebirth too much since you couldn't have your other characters use spells/attacks the same way as the other games.

Correct, Tales of Eternia = Tales of Destiny II, they changed the American name because of Mattel's copyright. It's kind of stupid, because it causes a lot of confusion because people think that Tales of Destiny II = Tales of Destiny 2, when actually, they are different. In Japan Tales of Destiny 2 is an actual sequal to Tales of Destiny 1, whereas Tales of Destiny II is actually a completely different game called Tales of Eternia =P

The first ever Tales game I played was Phantasia on the GBA. After a while, I tried out Symphonia. Great games.

I really tried to like the Tales games, but for some reason, they tend to bore me. This is weird because I like action games...but I dunno, the 2d fights just seem to be redundant...not because they're 2d, they just are.
