I rented this and I have to admit, this is amusing the HELL outta me! All the classic players I recognize, I create my own teams with all the customizable colors and whatnot....and the guys have signature moves! OJ, walter payton, elway...and oh the COMEDY when you get a touchdown w/ Simpson on the Assassins, a big animatronic assassin does a stabbing motion w/ a knife. There's video of it out there.

Anyway, yeah, the best part is the create-a-team is FAIR! Every team gets 2 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze stars, and you can create gold bronze and silver stars. And you can take your created teams and players online!

I enjoy it more then Madden, but I was never that big on Madden in the first place. Just give it a shot if you're an ex Tecmo Bowler like me.

Would you recommend it to a serious football fan like myself? I like the NCAA Football and Madden series, but I'm up for new stuff.

Yeah, I'd say so. The serious players at work like it too, say it plays more realisticly and whatnot. I'm really not such a good judge of such things. Most reviews have knocked it points for not having extra fluff I really don't care about.

We made the "San Fransisco Pride" and they actually call out their name! My all stars are Richard Simmons and Clay Aiken. My team is decked out in hot pink, turquoise, yellow, white, and purple.

I SO can't wait to take this team online.

No because EA bought the world.

I watched them preview this on GameSpot and it looked like fun. Which is saying a lot coming from somebody who hasn't touched a football game (or any other sport game except Hot Shots Golf) since the Genesis.

I mainly stick to NCAA College Football anyway. A decade of national championships in Austin? Hells yeah.
